redwinelover's Journal, 30 December 2010

Today... so far, so good. But hours until bedtime! lol... yesterday... well, it pretty much sucked as far as food choices and calories go. I went shopping today, got out of the house (and away from food!) and tried on clothes. That is a boost to the ego, so maybe I can just keep that good feeling with me. Sometimes it drives me nuts that clothing sizes aren't consistent, but then again, I bought a pair of jeans today in a size.... drum roll please.... ONE! Hahaha! Yeah, they have stretch in them! Yeah, they are TIGHT. But right now, I'm also carrying an additional four pounds that MUST come off. So I figure those four pounds will make the difference between these jeans being "too tight" to fitting very well. I really did sort of buy them for the size. (who says I'm shallow?!) Now granted, most of the clothes I'm wearing are a size 3, and I have a couple that are a size 5 (no stretch) that fit well. But I'm going with "3". I like the way it sounds. Anyway, the whole point being...shopping may not be good for the wallet (esp. with a car that most likely needs a new engine), but it is sure good for the ego and for getting back in "diet and health" mode!

Well, hubby is away for a very quick family reunion. Spur of the moment and I didn't care to go for a variety of reasons. And thank God, he'll be back tomorrow, so we can ring in the new year together. Unless, God forbid, his flight is delayed due to weather. I thought I'd get lots done while he was gone...not really! But, planning on a special steak dinner tomorrow at home, alone with "my man", maybe light a fire, pour some wine, and talk about what we've been through this year and what we look forward to for the next. If I don't journal tomorrow, Happy New Year to all my wonderful, loving, supportive buddies/friends! You are the best! I am ONE lucky woman!

Oh yeah!!! the clothe sizes... One store I am a size 34 pants then I am a 36 and then a 38 WTF??? LMAO... It seems clothes manufactures are starting to make fat clothes more appealing to well fat people LOL. Also there are a lot more plus size fashions out there now because DUH the normal is becoming fat and soon it will be very hard to find smaller sizes... Trust me on this one folks its back to the Flinestone age LOL. Four pounds of yours and almost five pounds of mine equals ten plus pounds combined to be lost... Lets do this buddy LOL. I like your attitude about the shopping and I always like to keep a tight pair of pants to keep me in the right path and wear them a few times a week before I bust the button off such as this week LOL. I will say prayer for your car. Big hugs to you and your family this New Year.

Hey Gizmo... I know the "norm" is now being geared toward fatter people. Pretty sad, isn't it? You know we are the first generation ever that is expected to outlive our children? That's pathetic. I hope there's a huge movement away from this and back toward health. And yep, keeping a tight pair of jeans is very beneficial. I have lost weight this time using "motivation jeans" all the way down...worked then, it should also work to keep me on track. Well, today was the start of healthier eating. I'm going to give myself a lot of lattitude tomorrow, go easy on the first and come Jan. 2nd, buckle down, journal daily again, record my food and hopefully, start this 17 Day Diet. If it works as touted, I'll only need the first 17 day cycle to get me back to where I want to be, then go on the maintenance portion of it. Now... if I could only learn to cook! lol... any input on how to bake or broil chicken breasts so they don't taste like crap? lol... I don't eat fish, so that narrows down my protein options on this diet plan to ... chicken. That and eggs and yogurt.. I can do this. Thanks for saying a prayer for the car... keep 'em coming! I don't want to see my husband have to tear apart another engine and throw his back out, and take up every moment of his "spare" time again! I know money doesn't buy happiness, but I think it DOES buy free time! Thanks, Gizmo...let's keep encouraging each other. I'm going to have a shocking wake up moment when I weigh in on the first. I'm going to make myself do it regardless, as is ctlss... to use as a starting point for this coming year. And if I don't talk to you tomorrow...happy new year!

Regarding the number three that you like, I find this to be one of the clearest interpretations: "There is an ancient wisdom that's says: 'Messages or events that come in three's are worth noticing. Whenever anything is mentioned three times it is a message to us that these things are of the utmost importance.'" It is also interpreted as a sign of creative power and energy. It fits, but I think I prefer the number two for you, which is the number of balance and of romance. Besides, it will keep you skinnier than the number three (lol). I want to come by tomorrow and wish you a Happy New Year, so I will leave that for then... But just in case something were to happen... HAPPY NEW YEAR REDWINELOVER, my dear buddy, my pal, my good friend!!! :-)

Hi Info! And a very happy new year to you, as well! I agree with the thing about it coming in threes are of great importance. There is something in Christian thought that also speaks of that type of thinking- something like confirmation? Lol...can't remember just now. I like the number 2, as well! I will say, however, that it's difficult to find clothes in a size 2- seems to be either 1 or 3! Either way, I'll take it... Beats hell out of a 14! As for you, dear friend, I wish you health, happiness, and love in this new year. You deserve it!
