I fell a bit off of the wagon today. My boyfriend just found out yesterday that he got promoted to a great position, so we went out for lunch AND dinner tonight! I felt really good about what I ate at lunch (except for the margaritas, of course). Usually I chow down on the basket of chips & salsa that you get at a Mexican restaurant, but I just nibbled on a few today (avoiding the chips/salsa was actually easier than I thought it would be). And my bf & I split a meal, so I definitely felt healthy about what I ate at lunch. But then for dinner we went out for Morrocan food, and I pretty much just reverted back to my old ways of eating (#1. ordering an appetizer #2. eating too much of the appetizer, and #3. eating too much of the entree). I didn't totally pig out, but I wasn't being as portion-conscious as I have been this week. I feel like I would have stayed under my RDI if I had only gone out to eat for one of today's meals instead of two.

Anyway, I'm trying not to beat myself up too much about this, because I have been REALLY good all week, especially in my avoidance of the office goodies/sweets and in substituting the usual dinner pasta/rice with healthy veggies. And I made a conscious effort to cut down my breakfast this morning. Usually on the weekends I have 2 eggs, 2 pieces of turkey bacon, and 2 pieces of toast, but I cut out that extra piece of toast and only had 1 today. I think I may also try to cut out that extra piece of turkey bacon in the near future.

Well, I'm just gearing myself up for the holidays! I am trying to mentally prepare myself for all of the food that will be available at the Xmas parties. I feel like I have a pretty strong handle on my will power to avoid eating sweets, snacks, etc, so I'm confident that this holiday will go by with ease and with healthy eating on my part.

P.S. I'm going to be heading out in the cold tomorrow morning for a brisk 4 mile run - I love my Sunday runs, so I'm pretty excited for it!
