Yelena'sNewLife's Journal, 30 June 2020

Hello everybody. Sorry for being in the shadows for so long. I have been in and out from the hospitals. Last time I was discharged couple days ago. My weight has been going up. So it is why I changed the starting weight (116 kg). It has been very difficult me being active. But I did managed to loose some weight. But for 3 weeks I am eating very little and struggling to drink water. Maybe anyone knows how I can increase water intake? Your suggestions will be welcomed.

Yes, I had water drip through the vein last week. At home managing only around 700ml. I noticed that my kidneys started aching.

I would measure out 3 or 4 500ml bottles of water in the morning and try and work my way through them throughout the day. Sipping regularly, use to make tea as well if that helps.

Thank you all so much for your suggestions! I will try this today. I need to drink water, as my kidneys are aching and I don't want to go to the hospital again.

I know this may sound odd, but making up sugar free jelly with water and eating this throughout the day might help.

Gypsy Tart, I didn't know that eating jelly can be counted as a water intake. I like jelly very much. I definitely will try this.

When you think about it, jelly is mostly water set with gelatine and dissolves into liquid once in your system. I used to recommend this to caregivers when their loved ones would/could not drink for various reasons. Try and drink fluid of any kind as well, to keep yourself hydrated. Take care

My Mum doesn't like water so get sugar free flavor water. You could try have small cold glasse water before meals and after meal or you could make your own ice lolli with sugar free squash or get sugar free ice lollipop. Get Better Soon, try not be too hard on your self also you could set time on your mobile eg even 2 or 3 hours.

Water comes from all sources. tea tea tea all sorts (I mean herbal), hot, cold- how about sparkling water as well? Someone recommended that to me once and I adore it. As they said better than the fanta zero I'm a bit addicted to. Soups keep you well hydrated and if you like Bouillon, there's only 13cals per 250ml serving - it's nice and hot and that will also go towards your water intake. Trust me, I do not like water.
