Oh Myree, that's kind of scary. Is this a good thing?

Hi Myree! I had a partial hysterectomy when I was about 42. I had fibroids and bled terribly for years until I got insurance with a new job. I gotta say, I don't miss my uterus one bit! {{hugs}}

Oh yes K I've had horrible periods my whole life and had a DNC & Ablation in April of 09 which made them just spotty but now I'm getting 2 or 3 a month and of course I gain weight before each one. I would LOVE being rid of them!

Surgery's always serious and scary, but maybe this is the correct and necessary solution for you. Hope all goes well for you today.

Well we attempted an IUD today and I have too much scar tissue from the Ablation so couldn't get it in. So we will set up an appt in Jan to talk more about the Hysterectomy she says it may not be worth the risk because I had my son C-section which can cause scar tissue which makes vaginal hysterectomy dangerous so we are going to be doing an ultra sound and probably open me up which is a 6 wk recovery... with my lungs doing what they are doing she's concerned about Pneumonia. So I may be stuck with the periods ugh

Awww rats! Sorry to hear things didn't work out very well at the doctors. How about taking transexamic acid or something to make the bleeding less?

Oh no, what a mess. I have been complaining because mine have been coming ever 21 days or so but 2 or 3 a month must be awful. I highly wouldnt reccomend and IUD to anyone. Maybe my dr didn't know what he was doing, but I had an IUD put in after the birth of my 2nd child and although I couldnt feel it, my husband could.... lol it was kindof funny. It put our love life on hold until I had the thing removed. Gosh... what else. Oh there is the depo shot but it makes you gain weight. Hope you can get yourself fixed up.

Yeah I can't do hormones because I react horribly to them. I have to wait till January because I can't take that kind of time off of work during the holidays. They're gonna love it when I tell them I'm having surgery after being gone as long as I have with the Bronchitis LOL I think they'll poop bricks!
