Monday, Monday, Monday

Its the only day of the week that always comes round to quickly :)

The concert last week was awesome!!! The drummer is 72!!! It dawned on me that in ONLY another 25years......I will be 72, yikes.
My mum is 74 now & I can see how she is changing, how fragile she is becoming. A scary thought that that will happen to all of us.

Thursday I went to the gym on my own, as I felt the need for a good workout. I got the Kettlebells out really worked hard for nearly an hour. Working out in a group is a doddle. So much harder to keep going when your on your own. But I did it!!! Had a hot shower and went of to have my wax. All I can say about it : OUCH!!!! I forgot to take some painkillers beforehand, as I was advised, so nothing took the edge off.

Friday was a warm day & I went out for my run. 13.57km in 1:31. 3 minutes less then last week, although I walked a couple of times to have a drink, & falling over a root in the woods & feeling sorry for myself. LOL.

We had LBs granddaughter in the evening til saturday afternoon. She really is a cutie. With her being there, we didn't get much done, but I made up for it yesterday. I trimmed all the hedges in the front & cut the grass. Filled 6 ton bags & took it away. Boy my shoulders feel it today.
Eating was so so. Not as bad as the previous weekends, but not brilliant. The meals are not the problem, its the the snack attacks afterwards. Not that I am still hungry, but I am looking for something, but I am never sure what it is!!!

I had the weirdest dreams again last night, so I feel a bit on the tired side this morning. James is on holiday with his family this week so no training with him today. But I arranged to meet on of the girls from the kettlebell class to work out together. I even revised a 'little' program. 36 different exercises, 20 reps each. LOL she might not like me anymore afterwards.

Dinner for tonight is cooking as I type: Pheasant Balti in the slowcooker. YUM.

I better get a wiggle on: plenty of things to see & people to do ;)

I am in the same boat where I look at my aging parents and wonder how I will be when, God willing, I make it to that age. But I do believe that we have an edge with our commitment to healthy eating and exercise at such an early stage. Neither of my parents were concerned about healthy eating at my age and they didn't do any dedicated exercise or activities to keep in shape. My dad was pretty active with working around the house and yard but that was the extent of his "exercise". So I think it will be interesting to see how we turn out. I have hope! Your "little program" you plan to share with your friend sounds rather daunting! Wow! I am still hoping to try Oliver's deck of cards workout with my hubby some day. I don't know if you remember me talking about it but we assigned 4 different exercises to each of the suits and then we each picked one exercise for one of the two jokers. We shuffled the deck and then flipped over one card at a time and had to do the corresponding exercise for whatever suit it was for as many repetitions as the card represented. 1 through 10 were obviously face value and Jacks were 11, Queens 12, Kings 13 and aces were not one but 15. When we flipped a joker we had to do one of the exercises we picked for one minute straight, as many reps as possible. We didn't stop until the entire deck was done. It was a great way to switch it up and make a really challenging workout seem fun.
