redwinelover's Journal, 31 August 2010

Okay...I was TOLD to record a journal entry! LOL.... Only...I've got "nuthin". Hmmmm...Okay, today is Day 33 of Insanity and the last workout day of Recovery Week. I have a day off tomorrow, and then the real insanity will begin. It'll start with the Fit Test, and the same day you start the next four weeks' routines. I've gotta admit, I'm a little afraid. And what DOES suck is my ankle still hurts on the inside, the part between the ankle bone and the heel. I really hoped that would have healed by now. Knees still hurt, but they ALWAYS hurt.

I'm back on the scale strike, just can't bear to see that number higher again, and I'm pretty sure it is. Two days of "healthy" eating - meaning eating close to what I actually burn, always seems to add a pound or two to the scale. So I'll try to have a low calorie day today and tomorrow, before checking again. I figured out I still eat out of anxiety...I wasn't hungrier than normal yesterday (although I woke up hungry, which is rare, but usually means I've had some simple sugars the night before), but I ate non-stop. I had something I needed to take care of that causes me anxiety, and apparently I still use food to soothe. Hmmmm...I obviously need to work on this one or maintenance will be very difficult! So, what works for you, my buddies? I gave up smoking, so I can't "use" that to deal with anxiety. Even knowing what the cause of anxiety is doesn't change things...I'm open to ideas. Well, unless someone suggests exercise since I'm already doing that one! LOL... I actually had that comment a few months ago when my weight loss slowed way down...You might want to try exercising! Uh...yeah... maybe you didn't check my exercise journal? :) I'm sure the person meant well (by the way, the comment was NOT made by one of my buddies!)

Well, I should have breakfast soon so I can get on with my workout. I have a few errands to run today and that always adds to the calorie burn. That's the other thing, I REALLY need to get off the sofa more than for just working out and making dinner or straightening things up. Wouldn't it be funny if I could "blame" FS for being fat?! lol...keeping me hooked on my buddies lives and sitting here for hours a day? :)

I think maybe the same friend has been checking on me too haha. Let's not disappoint her or um them I mean! Definitely be careful with your ankle..hurting in more will only slow you down in the long run. Have a great day!

I'm glad someone told you to post today. I am having trouble motivating myself to work out and I said to myself "I'll just go look at RWL's journal - that always makes me feel like working out!" So thankfully you were here and talking about getting fat because of FS which made me laugh and eating over stress which I have done many times. Now I usually try to do anything that changes the thoughts in my mind - usually it requires a change of scene or I try to eat something I am allowed to have that is crunchy or I try to turn it over to God or I try to come up with a solution to what I am anxious about by talking it over with someone else. I also like to read or watch TV if I get anxious because it gets my mind off my anxieties - but no food while I watch TV. Klannoye I would have gone crazy if I had Ding Dongs on my fridge - I would still be eating them right now - they are one of my favorite...

Uh, that is a hard one RWL. I usually try prayer or petting the dog or cat! They love to eat the things that I used to use for comfort!! LOL Hope that today is better. I saw that comment when it was made and thought, "Oh my goodness, this person obviously doesn't look at diet or exercise calendars!!". LOL Sorry that your ankle is still giving you fits. My knees seem just a bit better after 4 days of Slim in 6, but then again that could be wishful thinking!....I will stick with it though, and hope for the best...I tried some jack knives yesterday at Keli's suggestion..uh, yeah that is not happening anytime soon! Oh, my word, it nearly killed me. I was only able to do 2, but was able to do all the crunches. Have fun with your errands. I really need to do some housework, and the fridge repairman is really and truly supposed to come today. Guess we shall see. Have a great day, RWL. Talk later!

Klannoye, I had chocolate chip cookies, cream filled otameal cookies, potato chips, cereal, pop tarts, blueberry cake donut holes, and various other sundry items in my pantry last week, and only by the grace of God, was I able to avoid the temptation!! I truly think that, much like Andrea, if there had been DING DONGS it would have been a scene of carbocide!! I love those and the chocolate cupcakes! And have been know to polish off a whole box in a matter of a day or two! You are one strong willed woman!!

Klannoye!!! Dare you even suggest??!! Okay, I KNOW you were kidding...'cause you love me :) (I mean...what's NOT to love, right?) So, damn...it's NOT FS making me fat? Uh-oh...must DIG DEEPER (that was an Insanity inside joke)... Well, I actually DID do similar, open the fridge, too out plums, then an apple, then I don't know...then it was just trying to ease that spot and I KNEW it was just something that's hanging over me, something I NEED to take care of but put off. I can be my own worst enemy. So really? Your ONLY comment on my journal today? Psst....ctlss....later we ought to get together on this one - he he...

tephraim2 - yup yup...most likely the same culprit...I mean BUDDY! :D She DOES mean well, we'll give her that one! I know, I'm trying to take care of the ankle - smelly cream at night and morning, and then ice it following the workout. I KNOW I probably should stay off of it, but ...sigh...no rest for the weary! :) Just kidding here...I rest ALL the time :)

Hi Andrea, I'm glad "someone" told me to post, too! If it gets ANYONE motivated at all, then alls the better! So go WORK OUT! :) Okay, I'm no Jillian... you want to work out today, Andrea? You'll feel better by the end of it, you know that's true... How's that?

I had the food cravings this weekend and I have grapes and cherries in the fridge. I'd grab a handful here and there. Sweet and crunchy....yummy! Plus I was getting a kick out of hitting the trash can with my cherry seeds lol.

Oh, we'll get together on that later RWL, you can count on it!! Tag team!! lol

ctlss - I wonder if it's the time we grew up...ding dongs were my all time favorite treat ever. And what garbage it is, too! Nope, couldn't have box anywhere in the house (including the freezer, klannoye!) and be safe. I DID give my cat some of my peach the other day and he loved it. All of those things probably help, sometimes you just need to do whatever it is you are putting off. Well, in this case. So, it's done now and I BETTER not PSBE now (post-stress-binge-eating)!!! And your knees MIGHT be doing better since you're strengthening the muscles and ligaments supporting them. We can hope, right? :) Hope the repairman shows up WITH the proper part!

Junebug7210....Were you spitting them or tossing them? :D

RWL, never!! I have Peter Pan syndrome!! lol...I know that there are some things that I just cannot trust myself with, and a box of Hostess Ding Dongs is one of them!!! MMMMMMMMMMM!!! I love chocolate! So I occasionally indulge in some Lindt Extra Dark chocolate (85% cocoa), and it does satisfy that urge. And I always count the 2 grams of carbs when I do!!...I am glad that what needed to be taken care of is done and you can now return to a non-stress way of eating!...My cats and dogs will eat nearly anyting we eat. The dogs especailly love m and m's. They get one or two periodically, even though they aren't supposed to. They have eaten chocolate all their lives and are no worse for it. Baby Kitty's favorite is hubby's spaghetti sauce with meat balls! lol Crazy animals!

ctlss - I'm STILL putting off my workout...but putting my shoes and all my "mummy wraps" on as I sit here. LOL! You call it Peter Pan syndrome, I call myself a Toys R Us kid... But what I ACTUALLY meant was "the times" in which we grew up, not so much that it was TIME we grew up! lol... No way, life's too short to spend most of it as an adult! And I LOVE dark chocolate. you know...it DOES have some health properties :) And I'd still like to know if Junebug was spitting those cherry pits into the trash or tossing them....

Maybe you should try exercise.....Haha, just kidding I couldn't resist. Congrats to you for quitting smoking. Maintenance can be hard, but you cannot be so difficult on yourself you have been doing awesome. Sure you may fluctuate a few pounds when you get to your goal weight, but you have to stay true to what you have been doing all along to get you where you have. The one thing I think about before I am ready to shove that cheeseburger or even order one for that matter is what it is going to do to my body. I think about how hard I worked and how I don't want to ruin it for a moment of weakness. Sure, it tastes wonderful and once in a while you can't deprive yourself, but you can't do it all the time or you will end up right back where you began. Hope this helps.

Hmmm..is it wrong if I was spitting them? LOL.

I sit here wondering anxiously what must they think of my cherry seed spitting ways???
31 Aug 10 by member: Junebug7210
Junebug...I'm actually RELIEVED you were spitting them! LMAO!!! See? We're ALL kids at heart!....Sorry for the delay...I was ACTUALLY doing my workout! No Shaun T tomorrow! :D

Whew. I stand relieved. Haha. I was having a Prety Woman moment like when she spits out her gum in public. So funny. Good job on the workout. Gym kicked my butt today. Well that and Zumba last night. Love reading your posts!
