I am starting my journey over again. I hate that I have to say this again but I do. I have no self control for all the wrong food. I don't know how to stop eating all the high carb foods that are in the house. I need to get all the 'bad' food out of my house so that I can control what I eat. My husband wants me to keep the foods in the house but he barely eats at the house. He never eats breakfast and always eats lunch out. I sometimes cook dinner but I need to start making dinner regularly.

I am going to be eating low carb, keto style. I hope to change my lifestyle choices. I have a very sweet palate that I need to try and change. I hate the taste of splenda so I dont plan to use any of that when I do cook things. I need to reorganize my refrigerator so that I can have snacks at easy grabs.

Here is a picture of my son and I being blinded by the flash on my phone.

You are on the right track with getting the carbs out of the house. Folks who don't struggle with this really don't understand how difficult it is! I hope you are successful! About that sweet tooth....that is my issue too and I have tried all ways to tame it. It is just plain hard, but there are ways to bake without sugar and there are some great websites out there with inspiration. Hang in there!

I agree with F8thful1. It would help to get a lot of the high-carb food out of the house, or at least out of reach. But, simply hiding the food isn't gonna solve the problem :/ We're all surrounded by high-carb food everywhere we go, every day. We have to be able to see it, smell it, even cook it sometimes, and choose not to eat it. I have a family of 5. Me, 2 adults, and 2 teenagers. None of them eat the low-carb way (unless I cook something low-carb for them). So I'm surrounded by pizzas, chips, cookies, snack crackers, potatoes, rice, pasta, bread and anything else you can think of lol. And there are many times that I think about just eating some of it. But I don't. I've done it, and it wasn't even satisfying, and the consequences weren't even worth the taste. It didn't even taste as good as I thought it would :/ That was a bummer.. lol. You'll get to that point, too. It just takes your brain and your body a little while to re-adjust. You might buy some sugar-free candies/chocolates to help you get through. Some people have issues with them (stalling, gas) but it might be a good idea to just try them until you get past that "craving" stage. That DOES go away! To be successful, you have to really be determined to do it. You have to make a conscientious effort. You have to plan ahead and be prepared for "food emergencies" and those "away-from-home situations". You have to be able to live in the real world and still make better food choices :) Having the snacks within reach is a smart idea! And after a while, you'll find yourself not reaching for them quite as often. It's a life-changing journey, for sure, but you can definitely do it! Adorable little boy, btw, and you are very pretty :) Good luck to you!

My manfriend is possibly the worst eater i know. He is gone for breakfast.. and lunch also.. but dinner he wants horrible awful foods, and my children love processed food. Good luck, and ill be here rooting you on!! BTW- i think your son is adorable!

Thanks Amy! If you are the one that does most of the cooking I would suggest you just switch everyone over to your way of eating. (see I am really good at giving advice but really bad about doing my advice). If they all want rice or something with your dinner then just make what they will eat. that is what my mom had to do. She does it on Thursdays when we come over for dinner.

When I first started eating low-carb, I told my family that they could either eat what I fix, or they could fix their own. Sounds kinda bad, but I just couldn't make sense of fixing 2 separate meals. They all know how to cook, of course, they just got used to me doing it all the time. I make sure they have plenty of food to eat, so trust me, they aren't starving lol. I will say, though, that when I have fixed a low-carb meal for us all to eat, they LOVE it. Even my mom, who hates hates hates cauliflower, loves it in the recipes I fix. Amy, you can still get your bread fix. Look for a recipe called "Oopsie Rolls". You can add different spices to make them either savory or sweet. Also, you can make bread out of Flaxseed Meal or Almond Meal. I haven't made any bread yet, but I did make crackers out of the Flaxseed Meal and they were pretty freakin' good lol. I ate every one of them haha. Allie has a good idea there about switching your family over to low-carb. Some are able to do that, some are not, but it's sure worth a try!
