I'm very worried about maintenance. As I've researched weight management, there does not seem to be nearly enough research and I feel like the research is done by the wrong people.

There are nutritionists who are doing what nutritionists do. They look to see what food what consume and how it affects our bodies. For weight loss we are primarily finished in terms of nutrition. Calorie intake is the primary driving factor for weight. It is useful to have people researching nutrition, but we know how weight is lost and maintained. And what make things frustrating, it seems there is tons of info on losing weight, but very little about protecting your success. I find most useful information about weight maintenance from bloggers and not from places known to give scientific based strategies. I find a lot of "lifestyle change" but the words are left to the reader to interpret. How will I actually implement it? I'm left in the dark on this.

I'd like to find information of weight management as understood by a psychologist. It seems to me that they are the ones most qualified to provide an answer on how to successful implement the "lifestyle changes" necessary to not gain weight.

I'm almost 50% of the way done with my diet. I don't know what the transition is going to be like. What part of my diet will I need to keep for life? What needs to change? Will I be able to keep up whatever strategies I try to implement? The answer is that I don't know. I know that I can eat about 300 kcal too much on average when I'm not paying attention. Will this correct itself over time if I do pay attention long enough?

So many questions and I haven't found enough useful information from my usual sources to help me answer them.
