I have been in the states 3 weeks now. And while I haven't gone off the deep end with my diet, I have completely ceased exercising.
Beginning 9/8, I'm tightening up my diet and reintroducing my daily smoothie.
I really really need help with childcare on the exercise front. I'm basically a single mom until I return home in mid-November. The Y has childcare, so I'm hoping they have a viable/affordable short-term membership option for me.

I haven't worked out in 5 days!!! I've been so busy...3 cities in 6 days - lots of driving & lots of visiting with family/friends. But, I will definitely be making time for it today!!! I'm a little worried that my 1lb loss may be from muscle.
Looking through my journal, it seems to have been a whole month since I took my measurments last.
Bust: 39.5 .... down 1in
Waist: 31.5 ... down 1in
Tummy: 39 ..... down .5in
Hips: 38.5 .... down .25in
Arm: 10.75 .... down .25in
Thigh: 24.5 ... down .5in
I can definitely see a difference in my waist. My clothes are looking better and I feel leaner.

So, this is a new scale. But, it will be the scale I use for the entirety(sp?) of my time in the states. So I'm not sure if this loss of 1.5lbs is a real loss or a difference in scale sensitivities.
Good news: I worked out yesterday even though it was my off day! Extra good news: I ran for 21 straight minutes... outside in the very hot sun... including over hills! I have been walking the stairs or doing YouTube videos, so this was my first time running. I was really surprised with my endurance! I've never been good at running... add that to only working out for 3 weeks... this is super great! I power walked for another 10 mintues to get reach my 30 min workout min.
Bad news: My goal was to skip all alcohol for several days, but last night I had an apricot slush.
Yesterday, both my mother-in-law and my step dad commented on my weight loss. It is great that other people can see what I see/feel.

It's been awhile... but I've been busy. Sunday we traveled to Madrid to catch an early flight to the States on Monday. Our hotel had a "Fitness Room"... by fitness room they had an old worn-down treadmill in the sauna room.... no AC... no air circulation. But, I'm committed to working out every other day. So, I walked for 40 minutes - 30 mins at 4mph & 10 mins for warm-up and cool-down. Tuesday (Yesterday) I did a 30 min pilates/Cardio Fitness Blender Video. Go me!
However, I have had way too much wine.Two glasses on the transatlantic flight - 2 at dinner Monday night. 2 glasses at dinner last night then 2-3 glasses with friends we met up with last night. I think I will go another workout today just to offset the booze. I also had probaby 2 servings of mac & cheese at dinner last night :P
I'll be in the states for 6ish weeks-not exactly sure... depends on paperwork. So I'm going to look into my getting a 1 month gym membership at the gym my brother works at. I have a bachelorette party the 3rd wkd of Sept. I want to look my best.
Tomorrow, we are celebrating my mother's 59th bday with lobster and shrimp. & Another big family dinner Friday night. Goal: no alcohol until we get togehter with our Friends in Nova (sometime next weeek... maybe Mon, Tues, or Wed).
On a positive note, I have been eating great! -especially for so much travel. I've already picked up flax seed and chia seeds and low sodium beans...I've been having kale/fruit smoothies each morning.
This has been quite the ramble of a post... but I have so many things to say with no engery/motivation to organize and consolidate my thoughts. The joys of jet lag.
We are going to mom's tonight. She has a digital scale. Looking forward to my weigh-in tomorrow... let's hope the wine didn't do me in!!!!

I had a cheat meal last night - fried calamari, patatas bravas (fried potatos in an aoili), 1 glass of wine, & 1 large pear cider. But, my weight remained the same today. I did two Fitness Blender workouts today = 50 mins + post workout stretching. The videos were Cardio Kickboxing & low impact cardio. I was sweating like a man :)
Quiet evening at home watching Thomas Crown Affair while waiting for my peel-off face mask to dry.
