My mom is a cook on a tug boat, so she's only home every other month. Naturally, on her time off, the last thing she wants to do is cook. She came home yesterday and I was babysitting my boyfriend's nieces, so I blew my diet by eating at McDonald's. I know that I shouldn't have, but it's so hard not to go out and eat with her when she offers, and I had to feed the girls and we were running low on groceries.
I had a discussion with my mom a month ago about supporting my diet, but obviously she didn't listen. It's really irritating that I don't get any support from her. Asking me to eat at McDonald's or Taco Bell when I'm on a diet is like waving heroin in front of a recovering addict.
PLUS, I haven't gone walking in 2 days! She's been keeping me up late to talk and when my alarm goes off at 6:30, I hit snooze and lay back down.
I know it sounds like I'm blaming her for my lack of will-power. I need to tell her to stop asking me to go out to eat and I need to cut our late-night conversations short, but it's hard to do that when I only see her half the year.
