I have always struggled with my weight, but after breaking my leg in a motorcycle accident I gained nearly 50 pounds. Now I am finally healing correctly after several months and want to seriously lose weight. I know I have a difficult time ahead of me, but it's now or never for me. I choose now.

Losing weight and healing from a broken ankle.
It's all good. I try to keep a positive attitude and keep on keepin' on. Thankfully I do have a lot of distractions. lol

Hey- don't worry about what people are going to say. I get the shocked looked every time someone looks at me and asks me what I did to my leg. When I tell them I broke it riding my motorcycle I always get the same expression. But do what makes you happy. I am all about adventure and experiencing life. I've been doing it regardless of my size, but now I am determined to shed unwanted bulk so I can enjoy being out more. So--go for it!!!

Losing weight and healing from a broken ankle.
I have seldom been thin in my life, but this last 18 months has been the worst ever for weight gain.

I'd lost my husband December 2014 and just about the time I felt like I was getting over most of the pain of that loss I fell with my motorcycle and broke my ankle Embarassed . That was in September.

After several months of a poorly healing leg (healing so slowly I am on sort of temporary disability), I put on nearly 50 pounds of weight I could NOT afford to gain.

I began a watching what I eat and being more careful of the nutritional value and calories about 4 days ago. It is amazing to see that I am already losing-how much, I won't know until my weekly weigh in on Saturday. For once I am looking forward to stepping on the scale.

Along with dieting a person should exercise as well. Dieting is stressful, true; but also true is exercise being a good stress reliever AND needed to help a person shed unwanted pounds while dieting.

I know I have about 18 months give or take, to meet my goal, but I am in it for the long haul.

I am glad to be going to physical therapy now and down to one crutch. My physical goal is to be on my bike by April. It is a joy to me to scoot out of the house here and there whenever I can.

What kind of hobbies do you all have that helps you be more active and away from the kitchen?
