Hi everyone! My new weight is 136.1 down from 138.4. However, I was quite sure that 138.4 was anomalous as I had eaten quite a bit the previous weekend and Monday having had guests for the whole weekend. As expected, my weight jumped up dramatically! Previous to that it was 136.9 kg. So in reality, I've probably lost around 1.5 kg not the dramatic amount shown here! Lol, bodies are a bit unpredictable with fluid fluctations and irregularity of habits. I guess the lesson learned is don't panic if you appear to have a sudden weight gain - losing weight isn't like a boulder rolling downhill; its more like a roller coaster will unexpected peaks and troughs.

Today is the 25th of January and I exercised off and on throughout the day. I did almost 3 hours of light exercise, from lifting low weights to walking at a moderate speed. I use a exercise calculator to give me a ballpark figure of how many kilojoules I burned for that day. Monday I burned around 6000kj, Tuesday I burned around 9000kj, Wednesday I burned around 6000kj, and today I burned around 7500kj. Each kilo is around 14500kj (3500 calories). The important factor is to keep my kilojoule intake to around 5000kj a day (around 1200 calories). Of course, thats just the exercise, not taking into account roughly 2000kj for metabolic function and the kjs burned just by sleeping, sitting at a desk, studying etc. Like I said, I aim for around 5000kjs per day intake of food and I accomplish this by using Intermittent Fasting and by only having an eating window of approximately 4 hours a day. This eating window varies as well as some days I do eat over the day rather than fast and some days I have a larger eating window of 6 hours. It also means that I can sit down to the occassional bowl of veggie soup, some meat and veggies for my dinner and some breakfast cereal and yoghurt for dessert. Thats a very enjoyable meal! Sometimes I have a second meal, something small, like a piece of toast with some peanut butter. Generally I try to have one meal. I wasn't hungry today, Its now 6pm, I haven't eaten since approximately 10pm yesterday so thats 18 hours of fasting! I don't expect every day will be like this but its great when it does happen. Yesterday I did two hours of walking. Today I was very tired and decided not to exercise. Rather than doing 5 days of exercise in a row, I am considering doing two days on, one day off, three days on and one day off. My weight loss blog can be found at
