I am a 38 year old, stay at home mama to my 4 earth angels--ages 15, 8, 5, and 3. I have not always been fat, I was very thin all my growing up years and in high school. I started gaining weight when I was 23 and got pregnant with our son, I packed on 50 pounds. Then lost about 30 of it...then got pregnant again when he was 2. Sadly we lost that baby at 31 weeks, she was stillborn, which led me to a very dark place. I was depressed for a long time after she died, and also suffered with secondary infertility. I had 2 miscarriages thru those years...Then, a miracle happened and our 3rd child was born. Life was complete. Our family was complete, or so I thought. 2 years later another baby, and 2 years later #4 came along. So, we shut down the baby making factory, and just concentrated on loving our blessings....well. Our baby is now 3 1/2 and it is TIME to lose all this weight that I gained while having babies and comforting my depression with food. I have over 80 pounds to lose to get to the top level of my "healthy BMI"....so I'm making small goals, and saying that I just want to be under 200 pounds. It's so werid, because I feel like I am still that 130 pound, 5 10 girl that I was in high school, trapped in this fat woman's body. Is this my punishment for making fun of fat people when I was young?? If so...I GET it. It sucks. We started Atkins in February 2013, and are looking forward to the future, healthier and less fat!

New to Atkins
My husband works out of his pickup out on location, so he takes a cooler with him, with HB eggs, tuna, cauliflower, broccoli, cheese. There are more portable things than you think, just need a small cooler....Then when he comes home, I feed him salad and a big steak! Smile

So disappointed
I know how that feels, I am at that spot too, but my kicker was my 3 year old son was snuggling with me, and rubbed my belly and said--Mama, you sooo soft...Aww I thought....then he asks: Mama--you got baby in here?? very earnestly...but it crushed me...that a 3 year old thinks I'm pregnant, that means everyone else probably does too. UGH.
We started Atkins the next week.
It feels horrible to have gotten this fat.

Losing weight is one of the hardest things I've ever done
amen sister!!! I very certainly did NOT wake up fat....it took me 15 years to get this fat, having 5 babies and just LIFE happening so fast....But honestly, I really do WISH I could just wake up thin again! haha.
