I am going in withdrawls, my home computer got zapped by the hurricane! Yeah, I know Dallas is NOT that close to the coast BUT Tuesday afternoon the tail in of the storm came through. We didn't get much rain but the winds knock down the power grid for several hours and the PC lost its power supply. Hopefully I'll get back online this evening or at least by Saturday.

Today I'm sneaking in a few minutes on my laptop at work, the boss is doing a conference call in her office so maybe I am safe for a little while.

I have stuck to the <20 carb challenge, wrote down everything in my food diary, made a bead delivery, fussed about the computer, and still have not made it to the pool. grumble, grumble

Gotta take time to get my low carb recipes submitted to the challenge, check on buddies, (where is the computer when I really need it?) get my hair cut, get my nails done, make my once a month trip to Sam's and stock up on Atkins friendly food (cupboard is getting bare), dogs need a bath, oh joy! :( , time to get prepared to be a football widow again, (already had one solid weekend of high school, college, and pro games)---in other words, I cannot depend on Hubby to keep up his household chores, if I want it done I will have to do it myself or wait till February/March, you should have heard his muddering when I asked him to change a light bulb for me Monday!

I promise to catch up with FS just soon as I get my computer back on line!

Okay, that diet-free day this past weekend resulted in a slight weight gain but a happy husband. But Monday it was back to Atkins induction, >20 carbs daily. Had chicken strips for lunch and beef roast and salad for supper, plus for the holiday, 1/2 cup SF Jello chocolate pudding made with heavy whipping cream, again a happy husband. He hasn't seen bread, potatoes, rice or dessert in our house since January and he has started to whine a little. Sunday was a trip to the grocery store and I bought JUST FOR HIM, 2 loaves of bread, 1 loaf of cinnamon raisen bread, SF peanut butter cookies, 3 bags of chips and Bar-B-Q chicken wings and his OWN BAG of smoked almonds. He ate one whole bag of chips while watching football but at least no more whining! :)

This week is back to the pool for water workouts now that kids are back in school. And the return to writing down everything I eat, yeah the daily food journal. so far I haven't start whining about it, :)

Okay mbhpro, the secret to get your hubby to cook is

1) let him know you just don't have time to do a good job
2) let dinner time slide a hour or 2 later than when he wants to eats
3) stock the freezer with "real" food--steak, pork chops, chicken
4) introduce him to easy & great marinaides
5) replace the stove/0ven with the George Formam Biggest grill
6) prepare the extras for the salad ahead of time, ready to go in the refrigerator
7) sing his praises each & everytime he cooks
8) once a week take him out to his favorite restestuart and tell him you prefer his cooking!!!

Mark's new password is "mastercook"
he!he!he! I love it!
When we got married 20 yrs ago, he could burn weines and PB&J.
Last night we went over to my Dads and had the best t-bones ever. Mark even made SF lemon jello with cream cheese for dessert.

Yeah, his advantages out weigh his disavantages! :)

Finally stepped on the scales this week.........no loss, no gain.....oh well, low carb is a way of life now for me, don't miss the carbs for the most part. The PhillySwirl popsicles are great for an icy treat, no sugar, no carbs, only 10 calories!

I finally heard from the city rec center, the indoor pool will be open for open swim in the evenings beginning the first week of Sept, can't wait to get back in the water!

I am gearing up for the holiday selling season, picking some local Arts & Craft shows to be at, making lots of bracelets, earrings, etc, if I am not working, I am beading!

Haven't heard about the federal job I applied for, except they interviewed 5 qualified applicants. more hurry up and wait time. :)

I don't have enough hours in the day to get everything I want done! I do manage to read some everyday, shop ebay, check emails & FS, manage the kitchen (got my husband convinced his cooking is better than mine :)!) clean house, wash clothes, play with the dogs, keep tabs on my Dad, hair & nail appointments, varous doctors appointments, keep up with work at the office, and this time of the year there's all those extra things coming around: art shows, family gathering, holiday cooking, trips to the city swimming pool, gift buying, out town trips ............ I guess this happens to everyone, some how, most of it gets done but right now I haven't figured it out yet, except I have already penciled in the long winters nap for January. :) Yeah, I know its not even September yet.....

Guess I am rambling, maybe another cup of coffee will help.
