Start Weight
244.0 lb
Lost so far: 13.0 lb

Current Weight
231.0 lb
Performance: losing 1.8 lb a week

Goal Weight
200.0 lb
Still to go: 31.0 lb
I have done Atkins before and gained back. I am now in my 30's and sick of being heavier then where I want to be. I have a son who will be starting 1st grade this year and I don't want to be that fat Mom. I am getting married to a wonderful man who doesn't think that I need to lose any weight and is completely oblivious that I had put 20 pounds back on since him and I got together. This and my elliptical downstairs make it so much easier to stick with it this time. I don't ever want to be a size 6, but a healthy size 10 or 12 would look great on me! So, the goal is now to make the wedding dress that much more fabulous. Cheers! till November 3..

Needing something more and don't have the money for gym memberships or fancy equipment
Another great thing is Craigs List. Keep an eye out for whatever equipment you might be looking for. I found my elliptical there. After checking back every day for a few weeks I found a Space Saver Elliptical listed for $300 and I bought it from the guy for $260. It was new in the store for $500. He had only used it a few times and it has worked great.

Lady dieters
I was tempted to ask a different question but along these same lines..since I started counting everything I'm eating and exercising more, I seem to have problems having my period. I start and then I stop. I have done this three times over the last two weeks before finally over the last few days seem to be "there". What I was curious about is you know how they say girl gymnasts don't have theirs because they are burning so much in their routines..how much does that have to be before your body can't do what it's supposed to do as a woman? Before when I did Atkins I wasn't exercising and lost 65 pounds just from the diet. That was when I was 23 and I ended up getting pregnant! So, I can tell you, functionality then was just where it should have been. In fact I became regular as I lost. Now as I've started the exercise, I don't think I am regular anymore..I don't know if any of the rambling helps answer any of your thoughts, but I was kind of thankful to see someone else wondering about the same kind of thing!

Liquor...
One of my favorite things..I'm wondering if anyone else on Atkins can confirm or deny that certain kinds of liquor is OK or not? I see in the carb counts that Rum and other clear liquors have 0 carbs but I've noticed that I don't do so well on a day if I have say, 1 and I mean only 1, glass of wine. Would love to hear others thoughts or experiences with this. BTW..what about champagne(carb count)??

Carb-counting
Another great website that is free is called FitDay.com. It has a lot of foods built in that you can track what you eat daily and also figure out how much you are burning. Check it out, I have been using it for a while. I think it is more built for calorie counting, but it has a lot of cool reports and I have been using it for carb counts.
