Well, last night was the first time I can ever remember waking up from hunger! - 1.10am and 3.30am. Got up around 7.30am and was going to start the day with green tea but decided I needed fuel first, one banana later I was feeling a little more human. Who knew one day on reduced rations could be so tough? Today and tomorrow are a free for all - just as well for Christmas day with family turning up both days. As far as exercise goes I am taking today as my rest day - I was going to run this morning but had no get up and go, and with people arriving off and on I decided that a rest day was in order. Merry Christmas to those celebrating :)

First fast day of 5:2 eating regime. First meal approx 10.30am. By noon feeling ok. Boss decided to shout lunch from KFC as last day send off. I did not have any!! Nothing like a challenge on day one. Felt pretty good until about 2.30pm then pretty flat. I had done 14.5km on the bike at the gym this morning so was running on empty BUT that is part of this system. Had dinner approx 6pm - boy was I glad to see it - barbecued steak with courgette and carrots. It is now just after seven and I am about to have a cup of rose tea and then dessert - pineapple chunks with 1TSP cream cheese! They say the first day is the hardest so it will be interesting to see, it sure seems to help psychologically to bear in mind that tomorrow (and any non fast day) I can eat whatever I wish. Watch this space :)
