Wow!!! Thank you all for such supportive and awsome replies. I do feel welcome here and am excited to start this journey with you all. I am feeling better tonight because I rocked the 1st induction day on Atkins. In fact, I feel like I ate like a pig and ate so healthy but I am only at 12 grams of carbs for the day and 1700 calories when my RDI is 2100. Hmmm should I be at least aiming for that number to avoid slowing down my metabolism?? I am going to make it through one day at a time and make this a total lifestyle change for me and not a "diet" like I viewed it in the past. This is a new me and a new approach. I am happy to have my husband doing it with me. We went grocery shopping tonight and bought lots of tasty meats and induction approved veggies and some new spices and 0 carb condiments to try. I did so good today and I am even making rum balls for my grandpa's birthday party tomorrow and resisted eating some of the batter. LOL Only thing is I have a massive headache but I remember I always got the induction flu pretty immediately in the past so I can't expect this time to be any different. I know in 3-4 days I will wake up feeling awesome. Thank you all for the replies and motivation
You make me feel like I really CAN do it!

*sigh* I know. I feel like it was the greatest motivator to think my hubby may not be happy with my appearance but also the greatest blow to my self-esteem. He also just went to a doctor yesterday and weighed in at 298!!! He is 6'2" so he wears it well but we need to be around for our grandchildren. We have 2 toddlers now and I want to set a good example for them. So hubby and I started induction today *again*. I think this time I really am ready though.

so what does everyone think of this.................
I used to weigh daily. That drove me nuts with all the ups and downs. I am now doing monthly weigh ins. I think I will be able to figure a good average weight loss on monthly and not have to deal with the stress of the period weight gain. I am only going to weigh myself about 3 days after each period so I know the bloat and water is gone.

I was at my nephew's 3rd birthday on Wednesday and some family came down from Kansas City and when they snapped a picture of me and my mom....my cousin looked at the digital image and said "hmmm...that does not even look like the Rachael I remember" Once I looked at it I was mortified. I look so huge and bloated and not anything like what I want to look. Even my husband who has been supportive and positive all these years of my yo-yo dieting finally snapped last night and was like "lay off the salt and fast food!" UGH I feel so nasty. I am going to work really hard this time.
