Woo! Back on the bike today.
Amusingly, I managed to somehow get the nose of my saddle caught in the seam of my winter tights and popped a nice big hole through it. The tights in question don't have a chamois but I still hadn't bothered throwing anything on under them, so ... yeah. D'oh. I was able to wrap my jacket around my waist when I got to the bus stop, and my wool jersey kept me sufficiently warm and dry.
I planned to get some shorts to throw over them at the campus bookstore, but when I got there the line was way, way too long (one register running on the first day of the semester! ZOMG!), so I just kept my jacket in kilt-mode while I was in class and asked Denis to pick me up at school. This meant I didn't get my evening ride in today, but that's okay. Tomorrow I have an 11 AM class, so I should get two rides in (and, being Tuesday, my traditional Tuesday lunch at Spinelli's, probably).
I've decided to order a utility kilt so I can wear it on bike commutes. This will both come in handy if ever I have another seam-splitting crisis and afford me some extra pockets, which will come in handy.

First workout after a 2-week bout with H1N1 tonight. 45 minutes on the treadmill; 30 easy running with the balance at a brisk walk to warm up and cool down, followed by stretching (not counted in the duration of the run session).
I think I will definitely be doing a lot more running this year. Yeah, it means I will no longer be a purist in terms of cycling, but that's okay. I like running, and I think it's time to mix things up a little.
Back to class tomorrow.

Stalled out on vacation. Back at home now. Time to double down :). The depression has finally lifted for most part.
