The gym was a struggle today. I went in with some basic muscle and knee aches, nothing major. I used it as an excuse to just run a mile, and I also pushed myself to go faster because I was running for less time. Of Course, after running 2x faster than I normally do my knees and legs did hurt, so I tried to walk it at an incline (also making my muscles hurt).
So I got off and got on the elliptical, determined to not make this gym day a waste. It was way too easy, but my leg muscles and knees stopped hurting, so after 5 minutes I got off and got back on the treadmill, determined to finish my run. I managed to do 20 minutes on that, totaling 3 miles for both segmented runs.
I guess its good, it taught me that excuses are useless, and I could have done my full run the whole time! Tomorrow I will do five miles at my normal pace. I do think a brief elliptical break every now and then could be beneficial for longer runs.

To say I overdid it yesterday is an understatement, lol. We did our grocery shopping and Josh wanted a bunch of crappy food, and I decided to make it a "cheat day" (which means I decided I wanted to over do it and have an excuse, it wasn't a proper cheat day) because it was a bunch of stuff I hadn't eaten in a long time. Its funny, because towards the end of the night when I had a second sandwich I really didn't even want it, I'm not even sure why I ate it.
Oh well, today's another day and it's another chance to do well! I'm not going to dwell on yesterday and make today a repeat. I have been doing good, and I am glad I tracked that mess yesterday, I really didn't want to- but it showed me how crazy eating like that is, and I used to do that ALOT.

I am at the point where I have always failed because the weight starts to come off more slowly, so now I know every pound is hard fought and won!

Went a bit overboard with Rainbow sherbert last night, in a late night last minute snack. I didn't gain, but I would have if not for the exercise I did. And I didn't lose, which is not progress considering the hard work I put in.
Since I am the only one who eats it I tossed out the last of the half gallon tub because I noticed from my food journal my bad late night decisions seem to center around that (and weirdly Bologna, so maybe I should work in more protien in my day). It will be interesting to see if another late night snack impulse replaces it.
