A series of unfortunate events...

That's my theme for the last 24 hours. Of course, these minor inconveniences that I'm experiencing are nothing compared to my family and friends in Colorado Springs (my hometown) who are in fear for their homes due to the Waldo Canyon fire. Even though I'm going to whine here a little bit, I know that I am blessed in that this is all I have to whine about.

Today I was supposed to present on one of my projects that I'm working on and has downstream affect to my peers. So, I worked last night (after Phil fell asleep) to have something to present. Well, about the time I finished with one doc, my computer decided to do a memory dump and I LOST all my work. Yeah me!

Then I decided that I'd still have time to get the stuff done this morning even if I was going to the gym -- because the meeting isn't until 10. Well, the powers that be decided to do road construction at 9:00 a.m. in rush hour traffic to the Microsoft campus. Woohoo! A 2 mile drive took me over 30 minutes. It would've been quicker if I had walked.

OK, so now I've only got 30 minutes to get done what took me an hour the previous night. I come into the office, boot up my computer and launch my authoring tool...which is telling me that I can't use it unless I install this mandatory update. Fine! I install the mandatory update and it takes 20 minutes. I gave up.

Fortunately at my meeting, I was able to move other agenda items higher in the queue and take up the rest of the hour without having to reveal to everyone that I didn't have what I promised to show them. About 1/2 way through the meeting, my bladder is going to burst so I run to the bathroom real quick. And the toilet overflows ALL OVER MY FEET. Awesome.

Meeting is over. I head back to my office and knock my completely full cup of coffee onto the floor. It could've been worse. I didn't break my coffee cup and I didn't get any coffee on me. Coffee cup half-full. :-)

I almost feel like everyone should stay at least 5 feet from me at all times right now. It may be contagious. I'm just hoping that this unfortunate energy passes quickly and that I can get on with my normal boring life. I've really been praying for my family and friends in Colo Spgs and maybe sending them all of my positive energy -- so perhaps I'm getting a little negative in exchange. If that's the case, then I'm OK with this. I'd take a LOT of minor inconviences for my people to stay safe and have homes to go to when this is all over.

Day 6 No Sugar

Day 6 down 24 more to go!!! Everyday it gets easier.

Today was such a fun day. I woke up early, went to the gym ran 4 miles, and hung out in the spa area -- soaking in the hot tubs and getting steamed up in the steam room. Love it when I pamper myself.

After that, came home and Noah and I did our laundry at the laundry mat. My husband is the one who does all of our laundry (because I think it's the worst job on the planet) and I wanted him to come home from Georgia with all of the laundry done. Noah and I did 14 loads in 2.5 hours. If we had tried that at home, I'd be doing laundry for 3 days.

Then I took my boys to a really good Mexican restaurant where I had a delish steak dinner. Zeke doesn't like Mexican food and/or mexican restaurants and he really liked this place. :-) YEAH! It's a bit high-end priced for all-the-time dining, but I see us going again.

Finally, we went and saw Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter. Which was surprisingly a very good movie. I LOVED IT! I highly recommend it to everyone. Came home, chilling, and getting ready to watch True Blood with my sons. I love days when I've got so much to do and all of it is fun. OK, the LM isn't fun, but Noah was good company and I like being busy.

Not looking forward to next week at work. Going to be another busy one. I should've done a lot of work this weekend, but didn't do a thing. *sigh*
