losing 9.3 lb a week
30 March 2014
Yesterday I started Dr. Oz's Rapid Weight Loss. This is a two week diet...but more like a two week detox. No caffeine, sugar, artificial sweetner. Wheat/grain products are limited to 1/2 cup of whole brown rice per day and 6 oz. of lean protein (chicken, turkey, or fish). This detox calls for unlimited GI vegetables.
For breakfast each day I have a rice protein shake (2 T rice protein powder, 1/2 c. frozen berries, 1/2 banana, 2 T ground organic flax seed, and 1 c. unsweetened organic vanilla almond milk). For snacks, I can have pickles, a small handful of nuts, low GI veggies. Also, upon getting up each morning I squeeze 1/2 lemon juice and add hot water. I drink one cup of this sour concoction each morning. I also made a homemade veggie broth by cooking root vegetables and kale for one hour in a gallon of water. I have yet to try this.
Since I am not getting any caffeine, my caffeine withdrawals were pretty horrible. I have suffered from severe headaches, light sensitivity, nausea, chills/sweats, tiredness and body aches. It feels like a bad flu bug. One thing I did do which is Dr. Oz approved is take a long hot bath with 2 cups of Epson salts and 1 cup baking soda. This helped tremendously. It made me sweat out the toxins in my body. I felt much better...headache gone and nausea gone. I don't think I should have cold turkey'd the "no caffeine" as this was pretty hard. I think if anyone wishes to try this, they should wean off of the caffeine. If anyone is interested in learning about this 2 week plan, go to Dr. Oz's website and learn more at:

I will keep up my weight loss entries to see if this really works. One thing I am seriously thinking about is not going back on caffeine as the side effects of withdrawals are not pleasant.
