I was very unhappy with weight gain that I put on throughout the years, it all started in New Jersey. I am not sure of what weight I was at all I knew was that I was unhappy, felt miserable with myself.
I was always thin up until I had children, with my first pregnancy in 1995, I managed to put on 90lbs, I lost maybe 30lbs if I was lucky, only to be pregnant again. My second daughter was born in 1997, very close in age, my body never had time to lose the first baby weight. I was also raised by good old fashioned country grandparents who believed you were eating for two. My first mistake in the first pregnancy was eating a lot.

After my second baby, I took diet pills and walked a lot, it did nothing for me. I never got below 145lbs, I left my first husband, got with my husband who I am proudly married to now, I lost maybe 10lbs with him, until I started working at a call center. All those bagels, food parties, cakes for birthdays, well that did me in, let alone sitting for 8-10 hours a day didn't help. I would get up, go to work, come home eat, then bed, never time for exercise. I gained a lot of weight and hated every minute of it. I turned to diet pills again, when I say I turned to diet pills I mean I turned to diet pills, I tried every pill that you can buy over the counter, most made me puke, none worked.
I tried the Old Atkins, no carbs at all, that doesn't work being married to an Italian/German man, who loves meat, potatoes and pasta.
I moved to Arizona in 2007, lost some weight from working at a retail store, lifting stuff, always on my feet, no time to eat, the least I have weighed in at was 137lbs and that was in 2009 or so I thought at the time, I was wearing size 14 khakis, I am sure I weighed more, now that I think about it.
I started to put on more weight after losing my job in 2008, I wasn't working out anymore other than the Wii or walking. I was miserable by the end of 2010, I kept it hidden with smile.I decided in May of 2011 to start Atkins, I bought the New Atkins for a New You book, read it religiously. I threw out all carbs and sugars. I grasped this with a full gusto.
I don't want to call this a diet, yes you can say that. I see diet and I think fad, something people don't stick to. This is a change of life, you change your mindset on foods, you change your entire diet meaning what you eat for the better.
I will be sharing my progress as I go along this journey with pictures and setting up a timeline showing my progress as well.
Atkins sends give you three free nutritional bars, coupons and books for free just for joining. I find the bars & shakes to be so good..
