Well, here I am doing a low fat diet, and I just found this article at WebMD talking about how low-carb diets actually help raise HDL levels better! That is a particular problem of mine, so I may need to shift to a 40% fat, 25% protein, 35% carb diet. In July, I averaged 24% fat, 17% protein, and 59% carb. That's good for what I was shooting for, and that percentage is working for me. In fact, August is giving me 65% carbs, 18% fat, and 17% protein, so I was doing better about the low-fat side of the equation. But more HDL is a good goal for me as well. Think, think, think.
