Ugh, why does weight loss have to be such a long, hard journey? I was doing fine but then I injured my lower back. With that plus plenty of company this summer, I shot back up to 227 pounds. This is not where I want to be. Even my hubby has put on weight. He has started his Master Cleanse again. I am going back to my Whole 30ish/Paleo-ish diet. It's kind of like an 80/20 version so we'll see if the scale moves at all. I have to refuse to see 230 on the scale again. I want to get under 220 and then refuse to see that number again. I'm still far enough from the final destination but at least I'm on the journey.

I haven't been trying to lose weight lately, and I have only checked the scale a couple of times in the past couple months. I noticed my weight creeping up to about 224 and I think I even hit 226 once so I was discouraged. I thought I would just focus on my jobs and spring cleaning. Last week I checked the scale and saw 222 one day. I was happy about that. Today, I thought I would check again with no hope of anything, and it said 219.5! I didn't believe it so I moved the scale and tried again. Same thing! I am actually shocked to see this since I've been drinking more sugary drinks lately. It must have to do with keeping active. I've been pretty busy with spring cleaning, pulling weeds, etc. I still have a lot of work to do around my house so hopefully the weight loss trend will stick.

One week in. Last week I started at a weight of 226, which surprised me since I have been pretty steady at around 224 for a while now. I have been checking my weight daily and yesterday I was at 224. This morning when I checked I was 221.5! I hope this trend will continue. I have been doing fairly well with my eating plan. I am eating mostly whole foods (meat, veggies, fruit, nuts) but I have definitely added some other foods as well, such as milk and sugar to my coffee and tea. This weekend we were bad and had Taco Bell, Dairy Queen, doritos and chocolate, and yet I'm still down in weight. I will have to give this plan another week or two to see if the downward trend continues, even with the cheats. I sure hope so, because then I know that as long as I do my best the majority of the time, then I can still treat myself once in a while guilt-free. Only time will tell.

Okay, so it's been a while since I've kept track of my weight. I was doing great, but then of course Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Valentine's Day, etc. happened. Everything went downhill and I let it happen. Now I'm up a few pounds to show it. My husband also feels like he put on weight and recently we have talked about changing our eating habits again. We mostly want to cut out the majority of our sugar and white flour consumption. We want to focus on natural foods: meat, fruit, veggies, nuts, seeds, chickpeas, and rice. The good thing about my husband is that once he makes up his mind about something, his mind is made up for good. He decided once and for all that he wanted to make the change so I followed suit. We are allowing ourselves some cheats now and then, but we truly want to keep those to a minimum. We will be more lenient on weekends or when we visit family, for example. We went shopping together today and stocked up on healthy food. I'm so glad that I have someone to do this with. He doesn't have as much weight to lose as I do but with him doing this with me, I have someone to hold me accountable. My initial goal is to see my weight go to 220. If that doesn't happen in a reasonable amount of time then I know I will have to adjust my plan again.
