Believe it or not,this is not my photograph, but one of my beloved dog Mitzi. And of course my name is not Glaun, but Phil and my photo is somewhere else on my Fatsecret page. The name Glaun is my computer Gaming name. For those of you who game, I am most fond of MMRPG games and usually play them multi boxed.

I have been retired for 15 years now. My last job (if you want to call it that, really it was a 5 year extended vacation) was as a ski instructor in Park City UT. I met my current bride there and now live in Carefree AZ. Yes, the life style here is all in the name of our town.

I have three adult children, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

My wife and I live by ourselves (plus critters) and love to travel. I have lived in several countries around the world and have traveled a lot. My primary loves in life are travel, Skiing, Scuba, and Flying. When forced to work, my primary vocation was law.

For 20 years, I was very lean and worked out daily at the gym. After I married this last time I did the typical retired thing, ate, slept and sat in my chair. I put on 30 pounds and got into terrible physical shape.

A couple of years ago we went to Kathmandu, Nepal to climb the Hillary trail part way up to Everest base camp. That almost did me in. I then realized how bad a shape I was in. My wife came to me and said she was concerned about the shape I was in. So she made me an offer I couldn't refuse. Get back to the weight and shape I was in when we first met and she would take me to Palau for a week of diving.

That is when I joined FS. As you can see, it has been slow and steady for me. 1/2 to 1 pound a week. I figure with my new diet and exercise program I will reach my goal of 193 lbs by December, 2013. (I am 74 inches tall)

So there you have it. I am glad to be in the company of so many who have the same goals as I. Good luck to us and as I read somewhere, "God bless us, everyone".

Don't know bout them skinny legs mummy, but the rest of him looks mighty powerful. In this case I would rather take a handshake than a friendly hug.

Weigh ins...
How about this? Weigh as often as you like, only record in FS once a week, or once every other week.
This way we satisfy our obsession and yet measure the trend, not the daily snapshot of our progress. Daily weigh in's don't tell the truth, they are only snapshots. Real progress is measured over a period of time.

Net Calorie Intake
In addition to what Hoser says, if you don't exercise you can still enter the calories burned (sleeping,eating) and have those calories recorded by FS. However, you have to click the circle box at bottom of exercise page to say, "this is 100% of my exercises". If you don't check the circle your exercise calories will not be recorded. Same is true for food calories, check the bottom of food entry page.

Absolutely. It probably is one of the most discussed problems we talk about on the site. Corifeo is correct. Just keep plugging away and scroll down to previous pages and read some of our comments on "plateaus".
