Stress and weight gain.
I have been told that being stressed and obsessed with loosing weight can actually cause me to gain weight. I have decided to only weigh myself once a month.
I copied an interesting piece:
Stress can have more powerful effects on the human body than is often thought, producing changes in the function of the endocrine system and therefore on the hormones the body produces. Hormonally speaking, there are a number of reasons why stress can cause weight gain. When we are stressed, the body releases adrenalin, in addition to corticotrophin releasing hormone (CRH) and cortisol. This potent mix gives us an instant energy boost and may in fact decrease appetite at first; however, this effect is short lived. This system is a classic fight or flight response, however, in the past when we may have needed to physically fight or run from the cause of the stress, now we often do not expend this energy.
Cortisol is a longer lasting hormone than the other two and is thought to remain at elevated levels long after the cause of the stress has passed with the role of stimulating hunger so that energy consumed during the fight or flight can be replenished. This increase of appetite can lead to an increased intake of food, simply due to hunger, although we have not burnt the extra calories our body thinks we have. High levels of cortisol also tend to result in accumulation of fat around the abdominal area, which is thought to be the most dangerous in terms of increasing risk of heart disease and diabetes.

Today I was mortified when I saw my friend for the first time in six weeks.
Angela lost 2 stone in 5 months for her wedding. She looked beautiful on her big day.
But, today she had put it all back on in just over 6 weeks.
She didn't over eat while on honeymoon but ate normal healthy foods, they stayed in a 5 star hotel. She said she was desperate to lose weight for her wedding so ate less and less.
It goes to show if you want to lose weight, don't take any short cuts or starve yourself. Coz you'll only put it all on again.
Now I'm worried. I always thought, if Angie can do it, so can I.

Still the same 203lbs!
Please will someone look at my daily food plan and give me a kick....guide me! I'm stuck on the proverbial plateau.
I have a long bicycle ride ahead of now and I'm not feeling very positive.
