It was basically another day in paradise. I've been feeling tired the past week, each day a bit worse than the one before, but I figured it out. My poor dog Dink has bone cancer, and I've been sleeping on the couch so I can wake up easier to give him pain pills. Last night I gave him one a little earlier and we both slept late today. Still a bit tired, but way better than I have been feeling!

And the scale is working with me again. :-) BUT...this weekend will be my first true cheat day. Not sure if it'll be Saturday or Sunday yet, but the hubby and I are going to the FL Strawberry Festival in Plant City this weekend, and I have every intention of both eating food from a food truck AND of having myself a nice big strawberry shortcake! Can't wait to buy a few flats of berries, either, then I get to have all the fun of coming home, cleaning them all, and then slicing them up and freezing them! lol But it will keep me in great tasting berries (they always seem to have the BEST berries at the festival!) once the prices go up in a few months and the berries are shipped in from outta state! lol And hey, what's a girl without some bananas and berries in the morning, I ask ya? :-O

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, and I'll talk at y'all again next week. Stay OP, and remember...we CAN do this! :-)

WHOO HOO! I'm on the gravy train! And I don't mean I'm eating gravy! lol Today I weigh less than I have weighed in the past 7 years. I SO wanted to hit this point last year on WW, but try though I would, I just couldn't seem to get here. Then in August I badly cut up my foot and switched over to the Simply Filling technique...and it was all up from there. Up in weight, I mean. :-(

But counting calories is doing it for me, plus I now know what nutrients I'm taking in, and I'm learning which ones work for me! Drop too much of this, and my energy runs low. Eat too much of that, and the weight doesn't seem to drop, even though I'm coming in at the right amount of calories. Eat just this amount of THIS, and I feel wonderful! lol Yep, calorie counting is what I need at this phase of my journey. I'll always give WW kudos for starting me on the journey when nothing else seemed to work, but now that I've learned a bit of restraint and sharpened my lean cooking skills, it's time to move on. :-)

I wish everyone a wonderful OP day and week, and I hope you're all finding your way through the mass of info out there to find the perfect new lifestyle for each and every one of you! And remember...we CAN do this! :-)

Oh YES! This is my lowest weight since starting my journey on December 27, 2012. I've lost all the weight I gained back after going "maintenance" in August (because I cut my foot up badly, NOT because I had reached goal!), and I've dropped all the holiday weight, and now I'm into "virgin territory"! rofl Such a heady feeling, to actually KNOW I can do this, that I AM doing this. And I'm not suffering to get where I want to be.

Quite the opposite, actually, I'm learning that I actually like many foods I didn't eat because I just knew I'd hate them...like dried beans and lentils. Made a pot of spicy dahl...OMG I love lentils now! lol And black beans...those things are seriously GOOD! And so good for you, too. And who woulda thunk that kale would actually taste good? Or that a baked potato could be eaten WITHOUT being smothered in butter or oil, and still taste delish??? Not I, that's fer sher. But turns out I DIDN'T know everything there was to know about foods and my own taste preferences after all.

And I never imagined that I'd ever be able to leave the table when there was still food on my plate. I'm not an emotional eater, I can't blame my food consumption on my state of mind ...instead, I'm an excessive eater. I eat because it tastes good and I enjoy the act of eating. I don't eat to fill my stomach, I eat to EAT! But I'm finally coming to grips with my problem. I now find myself NOT cleaning my plate, as my parents would have said. I measure portions, and count the full calories...but when I find myself comfortably full I'm actually REALIZING it in time to remove the plate. It's taken me over a year to reach this point, so maybe I'm a slow learner...but I AM learning, and that's the point of our journey through life, to learn more and more about ourselves, right? ;-)

I wish everyone a wonderful OP Monday, and hang in there...because we CAN do this! ;-)
