I found this site while looking for other maintainers and resources for us. I'm trying to figure out how your challenges work, because they might be pretty useful. Most of my online activity has been with the community of maintainers at SparkPeople.com

Maintenance is a Very Serious and Difficult Issue. 5% of people who lose weight manage to keep it off. I am doing EVERYTHING in my power to be one of them. Some days are better than others, but it really does seem that the key is frequent monitoring and immediate correction. It is important to NEVER give up.

@eKatherine

*shrug*

I found it odd that they classifed legumes with vegetables.

But you're right, the definition of "vegetable" is very fluid in our culture. So perhaps I should not have been surprised.

Anyway, I eventually figured out how to split legumes from what I personally consider vegetables in my diet description, so I suppose there really isn't a problem, anymore.

@blueniamh

Nuts are great, both the edible kind and the people kind. My favorites are almonds.

Congrats yourself! Wow!

LOL Corn is definitely a grain, and indeed tomato is technically a fruit.

There was a good point made that baked sweet potatoes probably have more starch than lentils. I have a baked sweet potato maybe once a month, as a treat. It would be hard to consider lentils a treat, hahaha.

Even legumes that are "fresh" still have way more starch in them than I can handle in my own parameters. I don't consider them as 'green vegetables' (they may be green, but they're a far cry from real leafy greens, LOL)

Perhaps a semantic difference, but based on macronutrient content. Smile

I'm not sure how to edit this diet, so I'll just make a note here.

It is unfortunate that they lumped veggies and legumes into the same category because they really do not share the same macronutrient profiles at all.

Legumes are mostly starch, and therefore not helpful at all for eating the way I do.

Leafy greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, winter squash are all fantastic and I eat them a lot. I even occasionally splurge on a baked plain sweet potato.

Just wanted to clarify.
