Smprowett : I'm still not tracking, but I am preparing exactly the same lunches and breakfasts as before. This would leave about 800 calories for dinner, plenty to get full on as long as I don't eat calorie dense foods.

Ah, I didn’t track at my daughter’s and it went awful, as usual. I just don’t do well if I don’t track it. 🤷🏻‍♀️You’re doing great! LOL 🙋🏻

I know the feeling. The last time I got down to my goal I ended up not recording for a while and ended up with a cycle of craving that couldn't break. I kept lying to myself about how many calories a slice of cake at the grocery store was. My diet does make it difficult to over eat but I need to make sure I stay faithful to the diet.

The problems I get into are not enough greens to supplement the proteins I make sure I have with me. LOL I cannot fill in with starches like a 20 year old and not see adverse effects. 🤦🏻‍♀️

My dietary strategy is very different than yours. My strategy encourages eating starches, as long as your not eating it in an overly processed form. Think potatoes are good, cookies are not and don't put butter on those potatoes. Coming from a diet where I was frying up cheese and putting sauce on it and calling it healthy because it was low carb, I feel like I'm in a much better habit right now.

LOL I know. I still eat some grains and starches in veggies and even small amounts of potatoes, but large amounts mess with my blood sugars way too badly. LOL My daughter’s doing good in that she doesn’t eat processed meat, but she also doesn’t eat a great deal of complex carbohydrates or a lot of variety in her vegetables. By the last few days I was seriously missing salads, which I don’t particularly like. LOL 😆 But they eat a great many green beans and frozen veggies. 🙇🏻‍♀️
