Somehow I gained .6 pounds back. I'm confused. I'm following the plan religiously, working out every day (in fact, I still hurt all over from Saturday's mulchspreading extravaganza!). Water, check. BM, check.

I have been late getting started on this cycle of my birth control. Could that do it?

Muscle is more dense than fat. What happens is that when you start working out, you build up muscle mass. But that happens before the muscle mass has a chance to start burning up fat. So you initally see an incr in weight. But stick with it, it will even out.

In addition, if your muscles are still sore, they are still using the extra water to heal. That could account for the very slight increase. Look at your progress! You've been doing a great job! Don't get frusterated on a mere half a pound when you've come so far.

Thanks, ya'll. That's good perspective. (And I didn't think about the water/sore muscle connection, but that makes sense, too.) This is why I love FS!

My WW leader once told us that our body's don't know when our weigh in day is so they don't always perform the way we want on the scale. You naturally go up and down, up and down, so what you want to look at is the overall trend. BTW...you rock!!

I've been told over and over and over again... don't stand on the scale every day!!!It will make you frustrated... I'll be honest, I am indeed tempted to stand on it every time I pass it!!!.. ( I too have gained .6 lbs in one day.. I'm just not recording it...) I figured Its not real weight!! good luck!!!

Thanks, again. I have a terrible time not weighing in everyday. In fact, I started a forum post http://www.fatsecret.com/Community.aspx?pa=fp&m=112384#112384 about that exact topic for that reason. I do weigh everyday. I probably shouldn't, but I need positive reinforcement. (It drives my husband crazy!) I know it means I'm going to go up and down sometimes, but like TA said, I try to look at the big picture (though I sometimes fail at that too!). Who knows.
