Ack! This is frustrating! I am sticking very closely to the Atkins diet and have stalled out at around 12 pounds lost (since September!). I have two friends dieting along with me, and they've both lost 15 and 30 pounds, and they aren't as diligent as I am. One of them (the 12 lb), has sandwiches and popcorn several times a week, and she's still losing! Any suggestions?

Keto seems to work better than Atkins for many, especially if getting enough of the right kind of calories. (Need to eat a lot of quality fats and moderate-to-low protein.) It seems counterintutive, but seeing person after person start losing once they have UPPED their fats considerably! For eg, for a female, 1800 cal minimum.

Your friends' caloric deficit is higher than your, in other words they either eat less calories or spend more during activities.

Glad to hear fats can accompany a successful diet because that's mostly what I want to eat.

I cut calories and lost weight and have kept if off now for 2 years. I did not do KETO, but I do eat carbs that have a low glycemic index. I lost 40 pounds at a regular pace in 4 months 2 years ago, and I have lost anther 15 pounds in the last year as I have tried to firm up. Use a good calorie calculator, the one on here does not work well. I used the one on calculator.net. Stick to your calorie RDI for your gender, age, height and activity level and you should see regular weight loss.
