Whew... what a day yesterday.

I was totally basking in Wife's success yesterday.

Her job has gotten a few new tasks, which include the VERY IMPORTANT Thursday afternoon break at work - she is the one arranging fruits, snacks, treats and home made cake.

This is an important task for the staff, as we are simply not used to anything out of the ordinary - just the boring box cakes that nobody really wants to eat. Personally, I always skip them - they're simply not worth the calories. I opt for fruit instead, and usually bring a few extra to my office for snacks later in the day, for Friday, or to take home for the weekend.

Well, Wife is now in charge of this whole circus, and this means proper, home made cake. They LOVED it, and kept coming back for more!

I had allowed myself 100g of cake, pre-calculated it and all. However, once piece turned to a little more, and before I knew it I was at 160g! :) It was too good to stop at 100g.

I did grab a hold of myself, though, and quit. I made sure I could compensate to stay within my 2000 RDI, and I did this successfully at 1890. Makes me realize I could have had a TINY extra piece of cake. Dammit! :)

Anyways, I feel that I did good overall, and I am down another 600 grams today, working my way back to where I want to be. Today's Friday, and as you know I always lose more from Friday to Saturday than any other day of the week. So I'm curious to see what I weigh tomorrow. I'm hoping to be in the 77's, but that might be asking too much.

It's nice to see the excess weight coming off easily now, though. I like that.

This morning I will be going to work early to get a head start on things. I have a few interviews to do, and a little bonus paperwork to file, and Friday mornings are great for this. They're usually very quiet, and I get things done without interruptions. Also, I save up a few comp hours. Fridays are over at 1:30PM, so it's a short day. Adding a couple of hours early in the morning really doesn't feel like much, and I STILL get to leave early. It's a pretty good system I have there.

Also, I need to compensate a little for yesterday. I decided to leave early, as I didn't really have any late obligations. Wife waited around for me, and I left 90 minutes early. Going in early today will compensate for that, AND give me 30 minutes of saved up time for later. I think I can live with that.

Today's lunch will be leftover salmon and veggies from yesterday. Yum! I like that. It's one of the best meats out there.

Dinner will be chicken breast, onion, carrots, jalapeños and probably other veggies in a tomato sauce "stew". Sounds nice, and very low calorie. This will prep me for a good, filling Indulgence Day tomorrow.

I'm gonna try out my new "maintenance" Indulgence Diet. For those of you who missed my VERY scientific journal the other day, I'm changing things up a little to find out how much I can eat per day vs. how many calories Fatsecret says I burn per day, and stay at maintenance level without gaining or losing too much weight.

I'm basically setting a goal RDI per day. After one week, on the 7th day (Saturday) I will add (or subtract) the calories I have not consumed that previous week.

This week my goal is 2000 calories per day. So Saturday I will subtract my intake from the previous 6 days from 14000 calories and this will be what I'll be eating. This should - at least in theory - give me an idea of what will happen at this calorie intake with the exercise I'm doing.

Regarding exercise - I try to keep this as stabile as possible too. I have a goal to reach 3000 calories burned in a day, and not too much more. It fits my comfort zone, and I don't feel that it's being inactive either. Fatsecret suggests that I consume 2700 calories per day to maintain weight at "low active" so I think 3000 is probably good. Then I'll slowly work my way up to an average RDI of 2700, and see if they're right.

Anyways, enough numbers. They'll make my head spin and have me jabbering numbers at you for ages. I don't have time for this today - work needs me pretty soon. :)

Tonight, I'll be rockin' with The Black Peanut. We have a gig on the 27th, so we're deep in rehearsal to get details down. It's a lot of fun, and I'm looking forward to it - a lot. This will be an exercise in itself. Just the fact that I'm standing there for about 6 hours holding a 5kg bass guitar is a workout in itself. I remember how Fat Kingkeld needed a chair "because of his back problems". Today I realize that the truth was that Fat Kingkeld needed a chair "because of his fat problems". I'm glad those days are over.

Today I'm thankful for:
- Another weight loss!
- Getting on the bike for 30 minutes this morning, waking up slightly earlier than the alarm going off.
- Early to work.
- Weekend!

This weekend, if weather allows it, we're going to the garden! You'll probably not hear much from me other than my weigh-in and a tiny journal entry, but be assured that I'll be lurking a little now and then, and that I'll be spending my time having fun with La Familia and good friends. We're taking down a tree in our garden, and if weather permits it, we'll be BBQ'ing.

Happy Friday, everyone! Life is good!

Nice journal King, not too long, and not too short. Just right. lol. Good job on the cake control front. I plan on making some Froyo for the family this weekend, and some BBQ chicken. I am not going to do an indulgence day this week after last weeks messups (Easter), I may start only doing them if I earn them. Motivation to stay on track, and get the indulgence day. Have a great weekend, hopefully spring will sprung where you are at. It finally has here.

I love the fact that the "Thursday afternoon break", is a VERY important task LOL. Funny how we fool ourselves - I am referring to the "fat" chair..... :-)

I remember not too long ago you confessed to having a problem with control around chocolate. I think you might have beat that. Great job on only have a bit more. Have a fantastic weekend. We're expecting rain so no garden work for us.

Congrats on being able to wiggle a little more of the cake into the day, and STILL lose! So jealous over here! Y'all are KILLING me with the BBQ talk... Though, today will be MY indulgence day, Mex food for lunch AND dinner... (special occasions) I will be checking back on how Your Mythbusters Indulgence Day works out... LOL Have a ROCKING Friday the 13th, and weekend!!

I'm on board with this new 'maintenance' indulgence diet as long as you don't limit yourself to 1000 calories a day so you have an extra 6000 calories for chocolate/ice cream/cake on Saturdays!!! :) Hahaha...

Erika - Oh, that's a BRILLIANT idea! THANKS! I can think of many ways to use 6000 calories on a Saturday. I might try that. :) NOT! I've done pretty well this week and will have a pretty normal size Indulgence Day. Next week the plan will be to eat a little more throughout the week, but also save a little wiggle room for Saturdays. This week is kinda high as I had a day with only 1100 calories.

Hahaha - I'm always here for you any time you need a brilliant idea.. ;)
