Well, I burned almost 7000 more calories than I ate this past week, but somehow instead of losing almost 2 pounds, I gained almost 2 pounds. I did start an exercise program, so I'm hoping the weight gain is just extra water that my muscles needed due to more exertion because I know I haven't gained 2 pounds of muscle in a week. Even though I expect the weight to come back off soon, it's still disappointing to see the scale going the wrong way, particularly after starting an exercise program designed to help me lose weight.
191.2 lb Lost so far: 33.8 lb.    Still to go: 21.2 lb.    Diet followed 100%.

That is very frustrating, I know. It happens to me sometimes after strenuos exercise. i'm a fitness instructor and I havent read anything about why this would happen.

Yes, when you begin a new exercise program your muscle retains water to help them heal. Google "why the scale lies" for insight in to water weight gain. Many other things can factor in to water weight gain even if you do everything right. I can go on a long bike ride, burn tons of calories and be up 4 pounds the next day. Just stick with it and the scale will even out.
