DaveKay's Journal, 28 February 2010

A few weeks ago, I thought I hit a brick wall at 217 but I changed my diet up to near what it was last year and I'm down 5 pounds.

I only lost 1 pound this week and based on diet and exercise, I thought I should have lost more. I'm 40 years old now and it just isn't coming easy anymore.

In the past I have hit my goal weight but then exercise and diet fell to the way side. This is got to be a life long goal of diet and exercise. I have to figure out what works and what doesn't and then stick to what works.

Short term goal for the year is get down to 190 and CONTINUE to work out. I can do this.
212.2 lb Lost so far: 15.3 lb.    Still to go: 39.2 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Plateau's stink. You did the right thing by changing your diet tho! Your other option would have been to increase your cardio. :-) In the past when the exercise and diet fell to the wayside, what happened? Did you set a new goal after meeting the first one? Did you push hard to reach that goal, only to be too exhausted to continue when you got there? I think you're totally on the right track about considering it a life long goal. What is it you really want? To be thin? To be healthy? To live forever? Examining your motivations will help guide you to the Things That Work. Also, not only CAN you do it, you're ALREADY doing it! :-)
