I love it when I get reassurances from the King, and he is correct! I did lose over 2 lbs since yesterday. Hurray!

Now I know I am back on my Journey. Today I am back at work and in my routine, Cereal for breakfast, Mid sized lunch, and small dinner!

Yesterday wife and I went out to Mexican lunch. I had cilantro chicken which was served in a sauce that was more Indian then Mexican, with bean and rice. It was not too unhealthy. I also ate a lot of chips and salsa, and some guacamole. I love guacamole! It was good as we were able to discuss her Mother and family issues stateside. Later in the day she confided in me she ate 4 ice cream bars, and she has been throwing down on the pretzels. I guess she is eating emotionally. It is bad news for me if that stuff is in the house. I have her a "what for!" hehe.

My foot is getting better by leaps and bounds each day. Did quite a bit of lounging around the house without the boot, and quite a bit of gingerly walking too. It really feels better in regards to no pain. My walk is anything but normal, I have to shuffle around like an old man, but hey, its all good. I had a bit of pain in bed, but we have lots of covers on at night now and they are rather heavy.

I have been reading a lot of blogs in regards to Achilles recovery, and am a bit surprised in the wide margin that is everyone's recovery. Some people are walking at 5-6 weeks like me, and some have trouble at 9-10 weeks. I can only assume it is either A) I am crazy, or B) I am healthier then some or C) It depends on when you want to take off the boot and start walking. Many people are in casts and don't have the option to take it off like I do. I suppose it is like weight loss, and that everyone does it differently.

Anyway, I am grateful for fatsecret and my support system, my loving wife and kids, and my job. Kitty lost her spot on the list from climbing curtains last night at bedtime! I hope she will calm down soon.

/Cheers, JP

don't think you're crazy (well okay, maybe you are :)) just because you're walking after a few weeks! look at the positive side: you ARE able to walk! everyone is different and every body reacts in a different way. some people just don't want to walk because they are afraid of having a relapse. so be PROUD of yourself! and congrats to your weightloss! this time i gained, you lost :) but it's the long time that counts and there we both are on a good track!
