JDbowler's Journal, 21 June 2016

What did I tell you. I knew the weight would come off. I normally don't put up a weight on days other than Monday, but it just felt good to see this one.

So, this past weekend was a lot of work on my foot. I ended up going fishing and swimming on Sunday, and it was a lot of fun. Jumping of the pontoon boat into the cool lake on a hot day.... It was great. However, top that off with a hard workout at the gym Monday morning and you are asking for trouble. So, just after lunch, my surgically repaired foot started throbbing. And normally I can account for what happened, but this one was weird. I had to take my shoe off at work in order for my foot to get comfortable. It didn't hurt at the surgery sites, but it hurt around my big toe, near where the plate is that is holding that joint in place. I keep telling my wife to listen to her body and if she needs a break to take one. So she kindly gave me the same advice. And yes, I am going to listen. I think I can take a week off and let my body recuperate. I have been sore for a couple of weeks. I've been doing the gym thing religiously for 5 months now. 4 days every week. Same four days every week. Maybe a little bit of a rest will help.

I wonder if it's related to the boat and balancing on your foot...

I'm sure that is part of it Lindsey. I think a little break though will help out. I will be mindful of my food, and maybe a walk here and there will be ok, but nothing too long or demanding. I don't want to lose the progress I have made.
