logging a huge gain.. I know I strayed last week but i dont think its enough to cause a 10lb weight gain. Im taking creatine and glutamine and not sure if that caused it or the steroids I was on for my carpel tunnel. But, what ever it is/was, im logging it honestly. Bc my 1st instinct is to not log anything but I would just be lying to myself and Im so past that. And whats funny is I dont look or feel like I gained 10lbs, in fact the opposite. I feel leaner and my stomach is flatter and i wanna say its bc of the HIIT Ive been doing. I also lifted heavy last week and not sure if thats it ? Ive also been having 2 protein shakes a day. Ive decided to cut out the creatine and stick to my diet. And Im sure that will do it.. feeling kinda meh today bc of the gain but I know the scale is just one tool to measure success. I just need to focus and be the lioness I know I can be.. Cheers everyone. Have a great day!

Hey, Redgirl, those steroids will get you every time! The good news is that once you are off them, the lbs. should drop pretty easily. You are doing every thing else right, so just keep doing it -- the lioness will win in the end!!

Creatine, glutamine, protein shakes, and hard work will pack on muscle. If you feel leaner, and your stomach is flatter, you're probably on the right track. Weight is only one measure of health, and I'd always trade a lower scale reading for a higher one that reflects more muscle and a better body composition breakdown.

Prednisone (if it was) is synthetic Cortisol. When Cortisol levels are high...you're not losing any weight and will most likely gain. Creatine side effect is extra water retention in the muscles. Combine the two and you're set to gain. Once you cycle off the Prednisone, some will come off, after that ignore another 5lbs mentally, as you could lose the extra 5lbs by cycling off creatine, but why would you do that?...just to see the scale move, nah'....stick with the creatine then after a few months cycle off everything for a "True" weight check.

Predisone is exactly what I was taking and just finished it.. makes sense.. so you saying now im off, ok to leave creatine ? I take creatine with am shake and glutamine with pm shake. Just started back on creatine about 2 weeks ago and same for the 2 shakes a day.. just started 2 weeks ago.

My cat is on steroids for a skin and she has definitely plumped up and when we run out and have to wait for a new script she shrinks back down all small. I wouldn't sweat it too much.... but like my cat Bob you can forget about the Olympics for awhile. Lol

I have been on prednisone, too. But the doctor gave me a lowered dose over a longer time period. Seems like I avoided gain but I am drinking over one gallon of water daily, too.

HCB, I slacked on my water last week. I lost my water bottle and have been "winging" it.. makes sense. I went out and bought a gallon of water so I can have something to use as a basis.. gonna buy new bottle tonite. :)

leave the Creatine, you should not be worried about a few lbs here or there...you're in it for the long haul, get stronger, get healthier, the weight will take care of itself. Personally...I love Prednisone, does wonders for various ailments accumulated over time.

My money is on the steroids. They are helpful for some things but the side effects are not fun at all.

sooo this is crazy but I stepped on the scale today and its down to 195.. so thats exactly the 10lb gain. Im sure now it was the steroids but Im not officially logging anything till next Monday. Hoping that with proper diet and exercise that number goes down some more.

Amazing! and excellent! (the 10 lbs vanished).

It maybe the creatine and protein shakes. Creatine cause water retention & protein shakes cause insulin spikes even if they're lc. Hope your day is great as well!

scales suck... let's (both....ALL) try to focus more on how we feel. :) You got this, Red!

protein shakes (100/150) and depending on the milk (100-200) that's fast calories
