Dammit. I was hoping that my post-Indulgence Day weight gain wouldn't bring me past 90 kgs again. Well, it did. Not that's it's THAT huge a concern, I just really liked the thought of staying below. I'm sure it'll be fine again tomorrow or Wednesday though.

Well, inspired by some of my buddies, and me feeling ashamed that I don't do enough exercise, I bought a stationary bike! I live in an apartment with old, creaky floors, so I can't put many types of exercise gear in here, they will all make a lot of noise and shake floors like crazy, but the bike is doing fine. It's a cheap model, but I figured that it would be good for both me, my wife and daughter. It's now sitting right in front of the TV, right in the surround sound sweet spot, so if I want to watch a movie, I gotta work for it! :) (at least for some of the time). So far, I've been on it both the days it's been sitting here, 45 minutes each time. I gotta say, I like the workout (as much as I'll ever like a workout, I think they were invented by Satan himself), and I'm okay with it. Wife will probably be doing it too.
There is a HUGE inconsistency between what Fatsecret and the bike says when it comes to calories burned. In 45 minutes, I burn about 200 calories according to the bike. FatSecret claims over 500. So what's the real number? I know that the bike doesn't take in all factors, but surely I don't burn 500 either. Hmmmm... Not sure. I think I'll just start going with the lower number and be glad that I actually exercise. :)

In other news: My daughter has now joined FatSecret. She will be my next guinea-pig to see if "my" system to lose weight is good for other people. She felt that she was getting a little too chunky, and wanted to do something about it. Seeing my success, and now her mother's success doing this, she wanted to give it a try. We're already doing the food that would fit it somewhat, so she just needs minor adjustments to get it working.

When I say "My" system, it's because I am trying to stream line the weight loss journey a little bit. I am trying to make a system, where "anyone" can lose some weight while still eating their favorite dishes and "normal food", do it without excluding themselves from real life, and without it being a hassle. I look back on my weight loss journey and it has been surprisingly easy. I'd like to share that with others.
Who knows, maybe it'll be a job some day. :)

Anyways, there is a long work day ahead of me today. Many people to talk to, but it's all gonna be exciting. Happy Monday, everyone!
Life is good!

Glad to hear you got the bike kingkeld! I have been using a bike at the gym since my back started acting up and it can definitely provide a good workout. Also good to hear your daughter is signing up. Wish her luck for me. Be Happy!

The "spinning" class i do is a HUGE calorie burn according to the system at my gym...1 hour class is about 1000 cal burn. Its a HARD core class, sweat dripping onto the floor kinda work out, but yeah, get on that bike and ride! Freddy says so!

:-( about going past 90kg... But on the positive side, you are still in onderland if you measure in pounds :-)..... LMAO - I love the fact that you have a bike - and have used it TWICE already. I know what you mean about the FS exercise calorie expenditure estimates. I always take the calorie count from the machines I use, and/or search the web, and look at the estimate other sites give, so that I can put in a realistic calorie burn. Happy biking (by the way I think 45 minutes is fab - I can't do it for that long - it hurts my bum too much lol)

I agree with skinny, use the numbers on your bike to be safe. I Do 10 mins on mine and burn just over 100 cals depending on my effort. My bike asks your age and weight to make it's calculations. Great putting it in the sweet spot. Hubby was saying yesterday we should put surround in the gym as we spend so much time in there. With tv and great music system in there it's sometimes hard to leave, especially if you're in the middle of a film. Good one Keld! Glad it's a family effort, good luck to 'princess.....' Thanks for being there xx

Had a great laugh when I saw you on my buddy list today "gaining 7 kg a week". Got to love the way they calculate that. :( about going above 90 again, :) about workouts and weight coming off again tomorrow!

About the weight gain; I am sure you will be right back down especially with the added exercise:) I was just talking to my hubby last night that we should get a bike. We have a bumpy old eliptical that feels like uphill the whole time and bangs the floor everytime you step with you left foot... lol. Now I am even more convinced I should get one. Congrats on your daughter signing up. My kiddies are to young to use the website, but I have started teaching them and they are always looking at packages to see "how many calories" it has and I gave them pedometers and told them its like Mario Bros. you get points for every step, jump, hop etc. They love it.

@Joshsteeny - that's a great idea with the pedometers. Maybe I should try carrying my phone around today - just to see how many steps I take. I have a pedometer thingy in there, I think. If not, I'll get one.
