ckworksalot's Journal, 01 February 2016

was 180 this morning and again tonight so I am calling it!,, AFTER 2 YEARS AND 23 DAYS I HAVE REACHED MY ORIGINAL GOAL... 180 lbs BABY!!! what's next? 165 was college graduation weight... I think I will just enjoy this for awhile! I celebrated with a 5K run... well it was more like a 2 mile run, a trip, a fall, head strike and shoulder strike to the pavement, a walk for a few minutes to assess the damage, then back to running, and then more walking to stop the bleedingvfrom above my eye, back to running... and finished the 5K in 31:52! 5 min walk home and started to notice the pain in my left shoulder. Off to the med express for xrays... seems I chipped the end of my collar bone. oh well, cannot dampen my spirits... I am 180!,
180.0 lb Lost so far: 20.0 lb.    Still to go: 10.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

I haven't done a 5K since I left the military. The lightest I've ever been was 180 lbs and that was back in college so I gotta admit I'm a little jelly. My goal is 175 lbs, but I'm thinking about making 165 lbs by December this year. I used to be 280 lbs when I lived in Hawaii (so much good food there and unlimited seafood, fresh yellow fin tuna steak makes canned tuna taste like dog food, you also gotta try the Big Kahuna Burger!). I'm 5'10" tall.

Great job! What seems impossible at first is attainable with dedication over time and you did it.

Amazing job at hitting that goal! I am completely impressed by your 5K story. If I am honest, I'd have to say that I probably would have been a baby about it! It just goes to show that attitude is half the battle and you can't keep a good man down! Congrats on BOTH successes!

Follow up doc appointment today clarifies that is is a shoulder separation, though he had never seen one with the little bone chip I have. Still he seemed surprised that I was out of my sling Thursday and regaining lots of range of motion, after just 4 days... I find that the more I move it, the faster it feels better. Also, I like to think my clean eating (not counting today's superbowl lunch at work) helps my body heal faster! That's my story and I am sticking to it!
