Logging a loss. scale wobbled between 164-165 so I went with 165. This week is going to be a challenge. Our car broke down last night. So I did not get my weekly fresh veggies. It didn't happen till late and I was about to head to store otherwise I would have walked to the store earlier. This also means the gym is going to be a challenge bc we cant fix the car till Friday or Saturday when we have the extra funds. So today is prolly shot to hell bc Ill need to walk to store after work and I really don't want to be on the bus at 830pm trying to get to the gym. Maybe Ill try and hit the apt gym for cardio. I may be able to make the rest of the week work with a bus pass. i just cant imagine a whole week with no lifting. I guess it just sums up to how bad do I really want to go to gym bc i can always just do cardio at the little gym or park. I'm a little bummed out BUT this is just one of life's challenges meant to test my dedication. The good thing is I really live only a 1/2 block from the supermarket and the express bus line is about 2 blocks from my house then its a 3 block walk to the gym so I can count that as cardio. It more of an annoyance than anything bc I hate waiting for the bus. BUT I've just decided, I'm just gonna deal with it the best way I can and remind myself to be grateful for what I have and not worry about what I don't have. Be grateful for the fact that I'm healthy enough to make the extra walk to the bus and be grateful its not freezing cold outside yet. Its only a few days .. Ill live.My only concern is getting home later but I can always just sleep a bit later since i work from home and dont need to clock in till 930 am.
On a side note, DH was given cholesterol meds 2 weeks ago and he has yet to start taking them. No amounts of nagging, begging, pleading or reasoning has worked. I don't understand.. He says the he is worried about the side effects while he is working and is scared to drive while taking them but he hasnt even tried to take them. At this point I feel like I should just up my life insurance on him.. jeez. I want to try and take him back to the doctor so he can talk to him about his concerns. I cant think of anything else I can try.. and Im worried about him. Its really hard for me to sit by and watch him do nothing.
And on another side side note.. Mom now wants to do low carb.. At least someone is listening. We will see how that goes.
Hope everyone has a great day.. Cheers..

Lifting doesn't have to be done in the gym. Tote the heaviest bags of groceries and do as much lifting motions as possible with them, Tote all on one side for a, then switch sides (farmer's walk). Have kids or other heavy objects around the house// Use them as weights (my kids love to be my leg press weights...lol). Use your body weight and do things like push ups, chair presses, planks, etc. It's not quite the same, but it will get you through. As far as DH cholesterol meds, I personally don't blame him. In my opinion, they do more harm than good. Do a little reading on how many diseases statins have been linked to. Is it his total cholesterol or LCL & HCL ratios that are high? "Cholesterol Clarity" is a good read to understand the new science that most doctors have yet to adapt about cholesterol. Hope things look up soon. My dad used to tell me to get through the bad times by knowing that they wont last forever, ad enjoy the rainbow after the storm because it won't be there forever either. Sending many positive vibes your way!

Jenny. THANK YOU ... great response.. I was just feeling a bit "meh" and saw this. Im sure what his levels are bc he talked to the dr and not me.. I would be happy if he would just work on his diet and exercise.

YW. Now, diet and physical activity...that's something to nag him about!LOL Before I started my weight loss journey, I was on high blood pressure meds, anxiety meds,& depression meds. (Not to mention I was 243lbs at 5'5".) Then, my nurse practitioner did blood work. It came back that I was pre-diabetic & my cholesterol totals and ratios were high. She told me that I had 3 months to get it together before she was going to prescribe meds. I only knew where to start from what I had been told in the past, the only told me "watch your carbs". So, I started "healthy carbs" & Low fat diet. I went back 3 months later for more blood work. She said that my total bad cholesterol had dropped some, but I needed to work on increasing my good cholesterol and dropping the bad a little more. She didn't give me a clue how to do it. So, I turned to trusty Google...lol. That's where I discovered that carbs increase bad cholesterol & healthy fats increased good cholesterol. That's when I found keto. I went back a year later and blew her out of the water with my results. I had her asking me for dietary advise! NOW... THAT, MY FRIEND, FELT AMAZING!!!! :)

First off, hooray for the loss! Second, whenever life throws in a monkey wrench (I too had to throw grocery money at my car last week), I always think, "What do thin people do in this situation?" Because obviously they do not blow up 50 pounds as a consequence of weather or pantry dilemmas. Third, hubby is addicted to bad foods, just like most everyone here. He will turn the tide when he wants to, and no amount of nagging or begging will change him.

Thanks Alpha.. i learned the hard way along time ago no sense in crying over spilled milk. I cant do anything to change my situation so might as well make the best of it. Soonsoon, surprisingly Mom has stepped up and offered to buy this weeks groceries even though she already pitched in this week and told me not to worry about it so its nice to have that support from her since I always dont. We ordered the car part but they dont have it so its gonna be a week or two bc no where in Austin can we find it.. jeez its a Nissan sensor, not a unicorn. And my car isnt a old.. 2007 so not sure why the part is so hard to find. At least Ill get a few extra steps in right.. Jenny, I plan to talk to DH again about his diet.. but dear lord its like pulling teeth.. Eve never known my husband to be such a stubborn jack ass. Maybe if he starts with diet he can lower the cholesterol naturally.. I did..

The real problem is that no shop keeps parts for vehicles older than 5 years in stock anymore; they order what they need when it is needed so there is always a delay of a day or more. Love you can-do attitude! You Rock it!
