Hezhturann's Journal, 29 October 2015

I really want to get back on LCHF and losing weight like I was, but it requires too much meal prep and I am tired. I did really well yesterday. I did well today and said no to a friend who was going to Arby's for lunch and asked if I wanted anything. Then, I have no idea what to have for dinner, I don't want to cook anything, and I have to feed my family something too, so I pick up frozen pizzas because it is so easy. I only had 3 slices which isn't horrible and I probably didn't do too bad calorie wise today, but I just can't seem to get myself back to feeding my family one thing and me another.

To top things off, my husband went to the store today and brought home several really good looking desserts. I WANT SOME! :(

I am also following the guidelines of LCHF. I am in a similar situation because I also have a family that eats regular food as well. I completely understand the need for convenience and not having to make two separate dinners every night. I find that being prepared really helps me to stay on track. I take one day to prep out a low carb meal, and then I portion it out and freeze it. Then, I can pull it out and heat it up in the microwave when I have made a high carb meal for the rest of my family. For the most part, I find that I can eat the same thing as them, just a smaller portion of it. I keep deli meat and deli cheese in the fridge to eat as a snack or a quick meal. I even keep green leaf lettuce in there to use as my 'bread'. When I cook my family meals that have pasta, I just substitute my pasta portion with spaghetti squash. I even prep and freeze my spaghetti squash in advance so that I don't have to take the extra time to throw it in the oven on the days that I need it. If you are craving something sweet, try Dannon Light and Fit Greek Yogurt. It is high in protein, while low enough in carbs that I use it to satisfy my sweet tooth. Another good option is Cool Whip.

You should tell your husband if he's going to buy desserts he has to eat them all before you get home! You're so close to target - just keep that in mind and don't forget to track!
