Motivated's Journal, 13 September 2007

Day 10 of second 6 wks, 143.2, bf 37.3%, keto small, tbw 43.3, visc f 8/0, bone mass 4.6lb, 2038/50, eliptical level 5 45min, weights upper and lower body 1 hr.

breakfast omlette, coffee w half and half, lunch salad w chicken and blue cheese dressing, diet coke, dinner, ham, cheese, turkey, sugar free jello. Didn't eat enough.

Going to CO this weekend--a little worried about being in someone's home w little control over what I am served. Am bringing some Atkins bars to have control over breakfasts. I can choose not to drink wine--probably a good idea. It will be easy if we eat out some meals. This will be a good 'lifestyle' test.
143.2 lb Lost so far: 15.6 lb.    Still to go: 8.2 lb.    Diet followed 100%.

WOW!!!! You have been doing great. I am still trying to follow induction but slowing considerably. I am afraid to increase calories because I don't want to wreck what I have accomplished.

You have done a great job so far. I see you not following your diet. A lot of hard work to just let go down the drain.... Hang in there!

That one word-'trying' to follow induction--may be what you need to change first. If you completely follow the program--and it doesn't work--you can begin to tweak the died (add or subtract calories, decrease a certain food or drink, drink more water, exersize more, etc). The challenge with Atkins is that if you do it part way, you can get into trouble. Why? Because the kinds and amounts of foods we can eat and continue to lose weight or maintain, would cause us to gain weight on another diet. If we don't have the metabolic advantage of being in ketosis, then we are simply on a low calorie diet. That will be effective to a point--but it's kind of business as usual in terms of our diet lives. Hang in there--this is soooo exciting.
