I have been w/o an accurate scale for months. If you get one try to get one with batteries. Mine weighs the same every time, which is a change from the last scale that was probably dust just a few months after I got it. I am tall and sort of muscular so people tell me I don't need to lose weight, but I think it is a good idea. I have been following Atkins closely for a few months now, so in due time I will start to show a weight loss. I am one who believes however that unlimited carb intake is not a good idea and it is good to try to get under 2,000 calories a day - especially if one has done Atkins many times before. I said it in the past it was for good and I didn't keep my word, but cholesterol and blood sugar levels are low - and it helps with people who do low-carb dieting properly. Right now my cholesterol is not good but in 6 mos. of Atkins it should be fine. I am taking a fruit supplement. I would suggest everyone buy some kind of supplement if they're on Atkins that has fruit flavonoids in it. I plan to buy better ones in the future. It is important I believe to weigh in daily - w/o clothes on and before one eats or drinks. Then you will KNOW what is working in your dieting after a while and what is not. One reason I am not losing quickly this time around is because I have not been getting enough exercise - and the even colder weather is coming too. A woman neighbor of mine may be interested in me, and she isn't 70 years old, and isn't 50 that looks 70. A neighbor seems to think we'll hit it off, and already seems to be plotting things... I'll take things slowly and keep my pals on here posted... Also I am a proponent of doing Atkins while trying to limit too much red meat and too much processed meats too. It is difficult, but for example if I go out to eat I tend to get a salad. Beware of them at fast food restaurants, last time I went to a Wendy's it was almost all lettuce - poorly made. It sometimes depends who made the salad...
