GLAMMER's Journal, 02 August 2015

Hi Everyone. I am frustrated beyond words that, after cutting my already meager calorie intake by at least 300 per day I managed to GAIN .8 lbs ~ What's up with that??!!
BUT, I've decided to just ignore this, & just keep eating less (& enjoying it even less!), & hopefully next Sunday's weigh-in will show at least some kind of loss.
I've been very good this past week food wise, but one thing that might have messed me up was that Hubs had an eye exam Thursday morning, so I missed my water therapy. I exercycled to help make up for it, but I could only do 15 minutes so it probably didn't help much at all. On the other hand, this week if I make both of my water therapy appts AND exercycle on Monday, Wednesday & Friday (the days I don't have therapy), that should at least count for something. I had built up to exercycling 30 minutes, so hopefully I can build back up to that time. Yesterday my left hip & lower back were hurting badly all day. I must have over-extended it somehow. That's the trouble with having Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, I'm so double-jointed that it's very easy to stretch or twist too far, then something gets strained or dislocated, or "sublaxed" (partially dislocated where it pops right back in place). I got up in the night & used the heating pad for awhile then went back to bed. Hubs didn't want us to go to church today as we had planned, but I really wanted to go & my hip had finally quit hurting, so we went. We had told our daughters we would be there, & I had even told our pastor on Facebook. Plus, I had baked a cherry pie from scratch for the monthly pot luck, so I wasn't about to let a little thing like pain get in the way of attending church, LOL! Truthfully, I love attending church, & we only get to go once a month because it is about 35 miles each way & on our fixed income we really can't afford the gas to go every week. The church has offered to pay for our gas, but since it isn't a dire need we declined. On the Sundays we don't attend church we still hear our pastor's messages on Sermon Audio (an AWESOME website for good, solid bible teaching), & I check in with the church on Facebook during the week, so we do OK. For us church attendance isn't something we have to do to go to Heaven, or to gain points with God, etc., it's an act of love & worship, freely given. And "church" is not in a building made with men's hands, but it is as Jesus said: Matthew 18:20New King James Version (NKJV) - " For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” So, we can have church together here at home, & though it isn't ideal, we believe God honors it & have been blessed in doing it this way. Along with our daily devotions it keeps us going & growing in the Lord. I took a nap when we got home from church, but my toes & feet cramping woke me up. Couldn't get them to stop so I got up & took more meds, & for now I'm hardly hurting at all. YAY! I'm just going to relax & take it easy for the rest of the day, & hope tomorrow will be better, & that I can lose some weight this week. Tomorrow I start a challenge called "Sass in the Sun", & I hope it will help me with even healthier eating habits, exercising daily (both pool & exercycle) & tracking my food intake & exercise. ~ Have a great week, y'all! ~ GLAMMER

This make sound crazy but you are going to have to think of food as fuel and detach your emotions to it. On my journey of losing 50 lbs I read eat clean diet. I did Insanity workout and it is really insane buy you will get results. I also read a book by Gary null. Any one will do. This how I lost weight. Look at these book at a book store before you buy it to see if it's for you. Definitely start a excercise routine and also adjust your meals when you have hit a Plato as I had to do. You can do it. I promise you. Dig deep :)

Glammer, just be sure you are eating nutrient dense foods, one with lots of vitamins, minerals, proteins, and complex carbs. Avoid those simple carbs and empty calorie foods.
