So it's time to own up to some disordered eating issues. I've been ignoring them for, I don't know, a decade. Telling myself what others have told me: sometimes you just overeat, it happens. Not exactly saying, yeah, okay, but it happens like, bi-weekly for me, and I want to vomit so bad but I don't because then that's bulimia. What I'm getting at, here, is that between the stress of my living situation and my PMDD, I had about three binges in the last week and a half, and have, understandably, set myself back. I can't afford therapy or drugs, so I'm going to have to figure this out on my own. Not sure where to start, really, but ... a shower seems a reasonable place. If anyone sees this and has some insights as to how I could help myself, I'd really appreciate it.

The honesty and courage of this post will serve as a FOUNDATION for ADDITIONAL progress. I won't offer specific advice...however as a "Successful" Binge eater for more than 30 years, I can offer you my FS support. And if you are so inclined, I can tell you more of my story of how I have finally become an "Ex-Binge Eater" (send me a PM, plz)...part of my story is in my bio. It sounds as though you are now ready to "fight the good fight" to overcome...one day at a time, and some days, one minute at a time. :)

I eat to comfort myself when I feel stressed also. I deal with this by binging on healthy comfort foods like stir fry. There is hardly any calories in green vegetables like bok choy and they are so tasty with garlic, onions, and Chinese 5 Spice. I will eat a huge plate full of stir fried bok choy for less calories than a frozen diet meal the size of a hockey puck. One trick with stir fry is that I use water mixed with Better Than Bouillon Beef Base and only a teaspoon of olive oil to fry with. It requires a little more stir action but it reduces major calories and adds soooo much flavor. I think its normal to enjoy food and its only a problem when the calories add up.
