Kathy Vanish's Journal, 04 February 2015

Hi everyone! I know I have been MIA for a while, but I just needed to figure out what I wanted. I found that by checking in here everyday (believe it or not) was actually enabling me to not make changes.

Since I stopped checking in sometime before Christmas I started to "Eat myself thin" from the lifetime channel. I have lost some pounds, but also see a slimming in my waist and all of my pants in my closet fit. I think I have almost lost a pants size even if it is not in pounds. I was not keeping my weight up, but I have lost 8 pounds since August and have been able to keep it off.

I am still tracking calories and am trying to run on my elliptical everyday since I can't get out and run. I found my first 5K to run this spring and I hope that it stops snowing and thaws out by the last week in March so I can run it. I also found one for the month of April, May, and July in my area. Now I just need to find one for June, August, and September. I usually stop running outside at the end of September because I live on a dirt road and it gets too muddy, but I go as long as I can.

I have plans to clean out the basement and am going to get a treadmill to run on in the winter. I am going to still do my elliptical workouts though because that tones my legs and keeps all of my muscles strong. I can't afford an injury.

Well, I have a too do list a mile long and so I best get started.

Have fun today!

Good job on the running. I'm sure that is helping tremendously. I know if I ride my bike early in the morning, it gives me motivation to eat right throughout the day so I don't ruin what I accomplished on the bike. Interesting that checking it helped you to avoid make changes. Checking it keeps me accountable. I don't want to have to fess up that I messed up! lol Keep up the good work!

Sometimes you just need to step away and reevaluate.

That's great Kathy!! I wish I could say the same, but I've been gaining and I'm needing to get back into the workouts and tracking. We've got a July 5K that we'll probably do too, so I'm waiting for some snow melting and warmer temps to get out and start running again. Glad to see you back!

Great job! I stopped my diet, but decided to begin it again. It's so much harder taking the pounds off now--and I'm eating healthier and less. It's definitely the exercise. I swear, you can eat if you run, run, run. LOL.
