writingwyo's Journal, 13 November 2022

I've taken a breather from tracking food the last couple of days now that I hit goal. No, not a desire to go back to bad habits. It's more a hope that maybe I've developed good enough habits and learned enough about what a healthy diet entails that just maybe I can do it without tracking.

Yesterday, I didn't eat excessively, got plenty of protein and didn't overdo on sugar, but fell down on the veggie front. Scale read 128 this morning -- lowest yet

I finally joined a gym. A coworker encouraged me to join her gym and she promised to teach me to lift. Her father was a coach and she's thinking about getting certified as a personal trainer, so I feel good about learning from someone who knows what she's doing. I'll also have my husband pushing me to use it, because he gets weird about wasting money 🤣 Went yesterday and got on the elliptical

My focus is shifting a bit right now from food to exercise. Still working on the shoulder. It's mostly back, but some days are better than others

Happy Sunday, everyone! 😁

That very nice writing. Hope to reach my final goal too, soon😊. Seem you adapting to the healthy eating habits nicely. Gym sounds great. Take care with the shoulder though.

Thanks, ginome 😊 Definitely going to take it easy with the shoulder. Will keep the weights light until I'm more sure of it. Doing my PT exercises faithfully every day

Yay on the new low! Good to hear that you joined a gym, as maybe it can introduce variety in your workouts. I have trouble committing to them, personally. If the workout can be done outside, that’s my leaning. We have beach yoga here, too. I do love classroom Pilates and Barre Method, though, which is in a studio not a gym.

I prefer outside myself, JustBananas. In fact, yesterday was such a beautiful, sunny day that I was kind of rolling my eyes at hubby when he was pushing me to go to the gym 🙄 I ended up going for an hour walk and then heading there to get on an elliptical. Turned out to be a good thing, because I got a more intense workout, and I've known for a while I needed to up the intensity sometimes

My husband and I are both very frugal and hate waste but we all do it. I hope you enjoy the gym.

Thanks, Morticia. TBH, I think it'll actually be helpful that he'll nag me! 🤣

All the best with your new goal. With your hubby as a supporter and cost as an additional motivator, my bet you'll do well. Lucky you to have access to a friend who is a trainer in training! Go for it! :)

Enjoy the gym! I think that is fantastic to have someone go with you and help to learn to lift!:)💪👍

Thanks, Navywifeski! Lifting will have to wait until this shoulder heals, but I'm really looking forward to learning 😊

Very glad you are taking care of your shoulder. And working out at a gym with a real trainer is something I've been looking forward to. :-)
