I think that will be incredibly hard to follow. At your weight you could eat 2000-2300 and still lose at a nice rate. Maybe you should not go so low and it will be more sustainable for you and then as you lose, you'll have to readjust of course but it would be better in my opinion.

Well good luck. Just know you have some wiggle room if you start feeling defeated.

You will. Good luck. My advice? High protein low carb. No sugar.

I agree with DP about the caloric intake - you can so still eat carbs and sugar - I eat those every day - I am not trying to say that the Dr is incorrect but there is much new information available today that states the opposite. There is no requirement to feel deprived or hungry. Packing around an extra 200 pounds every day requires a caloric input much over 1,600 ---- this requires the knowledge and information from FS members like Gastropod.

Weight lifters - packing 200 pounds every where every day is called weigh lifting. Muscles need energy - and all carbs turn to some form of sugar - this is not new news - it has been discussed many times. We have some really big losers on FS and many weight lifters - DP is married to one of the biggest weight lifters. They do so know what they are talking about.

Damn, 1600 a day? I weigh 116 and feel hangry when I go that low and only do it for a day or two once in a while.

I do 1200 calorie diet when I want to lose and I’m 139lbs 300 calorie for 3 meals with 3 100 calorie snacks through the day it works great and I’m never hungry

I’m 156 and follow a 1200 daily cal diet! I was surprised that when I got on here the first time that it recommended a 1600 a day calorie intake! Can I really lose weight eating 400 more calories a day? I am struggling with only 1200. I’ve lost only 7 pounds since February 1st. I’m exercising daily. I have severe neuropathy in my legs and feet and am not week balanced but up up to 2,500 steps per day! I started at only 253 or so per day at week one. What are your experiences with calories-in/calories-out??
