GRITS FOREVER's Journal, 07 June 2014

I cannot believe that I have gotten this heavy. I really backslid after I had the stroke and have put on a good 15 pounds in no time. Sure a lot easier to gain than lose. Nonetheless, I am not one to give up. When my mom said that all women in my family get the middle age "Allen Spread" I refused to believe that I am helpless to do anything about it :) But darned if it has not been pretty close to impossible to permanently shed pounds. Now I have more to lose than ever. I may have set my goal weight too low-- may have to reevaluate when I get closer to my goal weight ** PS just entered in " If I ever Lose..." and deleted out. My self-defeatist attitude has got to go along with the thunder thighs. No way to achieve with that hanging around my neck like an Olympic Medal-- the agony of defeat :( I need to work on my attitude every bit as much as weight removal. So here goes... again.... and again if I have to.
194.0 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 69.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

After breaking my leg with a torn Acl...I've gained back almost 40 lbs...not even realizing it! I got depressed and then gained more, but I'm done and tired of being tired and in more pain than I should be because of my weight. Your attitude of not going to give up is still there!! Don't get down on yourself...you can do it!!

Thank you for your words of encouragement! I also tore my ACL 5 years ago but strengthened my muscles through Power class at my gym and was able to avoid surgery. No doubt, it does come on much easier than it comes off, but we can do it! Most definitely!I can only imagine how much energy I will have once my excess weight is removed. I thought about how, if I were to carry a 50 lb backpack, throughout the day, how exhausted I would be! Well it is no wonder I am tired carrying around that extra weight- and I cannot just take it off or put it down. It makes me that much more determined to shed it and for good! Best wishes and again I thank you for your engouragement! :)
