TXSnowman's Journal, 19 March 2014

Well, the plan has been working so far. Down another 1.6 lbs and feeling pretty awesome. My target has been to stay between 190-200 lbs since January, which I've been able to do. I recently tightened that to 190-195 with an emphasis on getting to the lower end of that range. Well I'm here. Now I have to decide whether to hold steady or let it drop a bit more. My inclination is to keep eating the way I am and let the weight settle out wherever it decides to, providing that its below 190. I will have to give it some more thought.

Last night got very interesting. At 10:30 as I was getting ready for bed, our rooster showed up on the back deck and started crowing into the kitchen window at me. Now, as you may or may not know, chickens don't move in the dark. They stay roosted wherever they are and you can walk right up to them and pick them up. So for him to leave the chicken coop and travel 30 yards to the house to get me, took a tremendous amount of courage on his part. Mind you, we have had many scenes from "massacre of the innocents" in the past, so my danger radar was up.

I grabbed a flashlight and the rooster and went out to the hen house in my pajamas and slippers. Upon opening the door, I found a very large possum stalking my hens. So I trotted back to the house and dropped the rooster on the deck and grabbed a .22 rifle. A well placed couple of rounds dispatched the oversized rodent.

As I hauled the critter out to the trash, the rooster made his way back to the hen house and we all went to bed. As I said, exciting night!

WTG, @TX!!! You're doing GREAT! And wow, that's one heckuva smart rooster... I didn't realize they were smart enough to know where you live and come get you, let alone the bravery. That's amazing.

Oh, come on, man! Not that big a deal for the rooster. After all. If you had a harem you had to protect, you'd take risks too. :D I see you're below your target goal. New plan?
